will my food be digested in time for surgery?

I ate Dinner at about 5:30, and drank some water after.
I always drink a glass of water before bed.
I’m having a Tonsil(ONLY TONSIL)Surgery at about 6 in the morning.
Thanks.

Yes – the rule of thumb is nothing to eat for 12 hours prior to surgery. And usually if you go at 6am – you may not actually have surgery until 7-9 am – Good luck on your tonsils —
TIP: keeping your throat moist will aid healing and lessen pain — sip on non carbonated drinks, juice, popsicles, frozen juice bars — anything that will keep your throat wet. Even if it is painful at first – (they suggest that you not "eat" red juice, popsicles, etc.- because should you have some bleeding – you will not be able to tell when or how much.)
Yes you will be fine.
