What to do about many tonsilloliths (tonsil stones)?

I’m 17 and I get tonsil stones very often, often times they are as big as peas. I always feel like there is a lump in the back of my throat and it’s not always easy to get the stone out.
What are some good home remedies, that you have tried?
If not, what are medical/surgical options?

Tonsil stones are white clusters of calcareous matter that form in the crevasses of the tonsils in the rear and occasionally on the roof of the mouth. Dead cells, mucus, food particles, post-nasal-drip mucous, and various other bacteria become trapped in porous areas of the tonsils and eventually calcify to create these horribly odorous stones.
These smelly stones can be difficult to remove on your own so it may be best to see a dental healthcare professional in order to have this issue treated.
Best of luck.
