What Medicines can and can't you take before tonsil surgery?
I have surgery to get my tonsils removed on the 18th of June (soooon) . I usually take perscription allergy medicine (clariton, generic) And Heartburn medicine (Zantac, generic)–and I’m supposed to everyday. Do I still take these? I took Zantac last night…
I’m pretty sure you can take Tylonal. I know, no ibprofen.
But what can I, should I, and deffinatley CAN’T take? And when do I stop taking the stuff I shouldn’t?
Please and thank you for answers <3 I’m kinda freaking out. I’m 14, and I’ve never had surgery or anything.

Definitely no aspirin for 7 days
get a grip…you can take whatever you need, except aspirin (it’s a blood thinner) the Dr should have told you what you can take and what you can’t…if he/she hasn’t, ask THEM.
Day if surgery – ask anesthesiologist what you can take.
Two weeks before – no aspirin, ibuprofen [ Motrin, Advil. Alleve ] – they prolong bleeding time – which you do NOT want in surgery.
