What can i expect after tonsil removal?

You can expect the first few days to be pretty miserable, matter of fact. You will have the mother of all sore throats at first, to the point you will not even want to swallow your own spit. When you first wake up you will not hurt at all, thanks to pain medications. Those will wear off after a few hours though, and you will feel like you were hit by a bus. The best thing you can do is get it firmly in your mind that no matter how it hurts, you will drink liquids and swallow. The more liquid you get down you, the sooner it heals and stops hurting. Anything cold will feel great, although even jello will feel like it is made of razors at first. After about three or so days, you begin to feel human again, but it will be about a week before you really eat in comfort. You just focus on the fact that this will likely be the last bad sore throat you ever suffer, and drink until you think your molars will float out of your mouth. Honestly, the more you drink, the better it is, and the faster you feel better. It won’t be easy the first day or two, trust me- so you need to form the firm resolve now. I’ve coaxed my own son through this same thing, and many others, so I know. You will not want to drink or swallow, and you will need to make yourself do it at first. It’s not all ice cream, and in fact, you will want to avoid milk in all forms because it will make you want to gag. It won’t hurt you but it won’t make you feel good. Pick your favorite non-fizzy, non-citrus drink, get it ice cold, and drink loads of it.
Ice Cream! And lots of it.

&& the first time you take a big drink of liquid it will feel weird because the liquid goes were it had never been..lol..
mmmm if they give you anesthesia then right after you will feel really awake and chatting then bam just pass out. then you will probably wake up finishing your conversation
i got these green/yellow scab things where my tonsils were which fall off (ew…). while it was healing up i had to drink some yellow medicine that tasted like piss (or what i imagine piss tastes like…) but i got over the taste. they say not to eat anything but soft things but i didnt listen to them directly after i went out for chicken strips (mmmm :]) then i went back for a check up and that was that
