You and I both—my tonsillectomy will be in March/April sometime…you won’t die. It’s a common procedure that is done everyday. They will give you a pre-op physical to make sure you’re healthy and you’ll recover in around 2 weeks.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery, than dying during this surgery. Doctor would have to be drunk, blind folded, and have no hands for you to die. You will be fine. BUY ICECREAM….you will need it

The chances are minimal, although not non-existant. Anytime you cut into the body there is the chance for infection which could be fatal. It is extremely unlikely, however. Enjoy the ice cream, and don’t worry.

you will be fine dont worry! i had my tonsils out when i was 14, i was put to sleep..didnt hurt, i woke up in a great mood and hungry! they gave me toast and ice cream and i had a sore throat for about 2 weeks but it was easy as pie, the whole thing takes less than 10 minutes!! if you suffer from throat probs/tonsilitus regular then you will be sooo pleased when they are gone plus u get a couple of weeks off school/work…enjoy!!

AWww you poor thing! I wouldn’t be nervous, this is not a really invasive surgery and chances are, your surgeon will have performed hundred (maybe thousands). so just relax and pick a good last thought before they knock you out so you can have a good dream!!
