Tonsil surgery recovery time?

So I had my tonsils removed, Monday December 14th. I am still in a lot of pain and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to recover from the whole situation. My mom keeps telling me by tomorrow because it will be up to a full week; but the doctor said a few days after the surgery.

Can take up to 2 weeks. Everyone’s recovery time is a little different because people heal differently. It’s been 6 days for you. Give it another week and get a refill on your liquid pain med. The doctor is incorrect about this. A few days??? I think not! I used to work Head & Neck surgery.
Eat alot of ice cream

Just eating soothing things,
and it should be fine by the time you’re mom is thinking, but it also depends on what you’re doing too, being very active doesnt help the healing process, My son had his out at an age where kids don’t wanna sit still, so i really had to watch him and it took about a week-week 1/2, Good Luck!!!
