tonsil stones?

does anyone have a problem with tonsil stones? have you had to have your tonsils removed because of them?

I have them every now and then, and they are annoying little things! I understand that they are no cause for alarm, and they do get flushed whenever we swallow. The thing is, they stink and cause bad breath to an extent. The bigger ones cause discomfort when swallowing. Removing tonsils isn’t really the recommended solution for tonsil stones. Gurgling with warm water and salt is.
I’ve had mine out, and you sound like you need to have yours removed. Don’t worry, its a small operation for an adult to recover from.
I get tonsil stones but it does not occur often enough to get surgery. I get them about 3-4 times a year. However, if you get tonsil stones frequently and they are bothersome then maybe you should look into getting your tonsils removed. If not, you can use a water pick or q-tip (if gagging isn’t a problem for you) and remove them.
