tonsil stones are little pieces of food that get stuck in the crypts of your tonsils instead of going down your throat.
the are completely harmless (unless of course they are interfering with your daily life and have symptoms like a sore throat everyday, feeling like there is something caught in your throat, coughing a lot when you have no cold, bad breath…..)
there is no real easy way you get rid of them. the most effective way is to just stick your finger back there and poke around until it comes out.
most tonsil stones actually come out on their own if you find that you can’t get it out with your finger. they usually come loose and then you either swallow them with other food or in your sleep or you may notice when it pops out and you’ll spit it out.
the only way to guarantee that they don’t keep happening is to get your tonsils removed.
if they are annoying you that bad you should go see an ENT.
it comes from food getting stuck there. i used to get them, and whenever it came out, i got a sore throat. some people dont have this happen. gargle and keep your throat clean all the time by garlging. try hot, salt water.
it has something to do with the shape of the tonsil and a post nasal drip, and food.
