Tonsil Stones?
I need some advice on what to do to get rid of tonsil stones.
I’ve had tonsil stones for years, I’m 18 now and am sick of messing with them. I’ve had strep many many time over the years and I got tonsillitises several years ago and that’s when they started. My tonsils are still larger than normal and have many crevices for the tonsil stones to get into. I get them a lot, 5 – 6 times a week I can get several tonsil stone out of my tonsils and still can see more. I’m tired of messing with them, my tonsils are always irritated from them, they make my throat and inter ears itch and hurt. And they could be causing some of the problems I’m having with my ears (pain, itching).
Should I get my tonsils out? What’s the risk, Will it garante they’ll be gone for good, What are the purpose of the tonsils?
Is there a better way to get rid of them for good, not just treat them?
The taste of them, the feel of them in my throat, and trying to get them out of my tonsils makes me sick to my stomach.

I know how you feel! They are so frustrating. I’ll get some out, but then 3 days later I’ll have this nasty smell/taste thing going on, and I know I have more.
I’ve researched this to death, and it sounds like the only 100% for sure cure is taking the tonsils out. Honestly, if I were younger (like you!) I would do it in a heartbeat. It might suck for a week or so, but just think about how nice it would be to NEVER have those again!
I also read that some doctors will do a "laser resurfacing", to smooth out all those little pits they come out of, but I haven’t really found too much info on people that have actually had that done.
