My doctors have always insisted that I would get sick more often without them, because the tonsils absorb infection. But I'd much rather have a runny nose and cough than tonsils so swollen and sore that I can barely function. I say...if they will remove em...get em out. They do laser surgery most of the time now, it's an outpatient procedure and you're pretty swish after just a few days of eating soft foods.
