tonsil removal, pros and cons?
my tonsils are swollen all the time and been thinking of getting them taken out but what are the effects of this is there more good then bad? A doctor once told me the reason they are always swollen is because my sinuses are always dripping on them, that’s another thing my sinuses are always congested. Is there something that will make my sinusis better there for not making my tonsil swollen all the time? Open to all ides opinion, etc. TIA

If its your sinuses, you can have your adenoids removed. That will help with the congestion and draining. Also, if you are an adult, the tonsillectomy is way harder on you than it would be for a kid.
i dont know much about sinuses but i had to get my tonsils taken out a few years ago. they were constricting my breathing.
if you do need to get them taken out, the good things are that you get all the ice cream you can eat; youll be able to breathe better, youll feel better after the experience.
the cons: well you wont be able to talk loudly/atall for a good while, probably two weeks or so until you can talk normaly, if i remember right.
also, ofcourse youll feel pain.
I had my tonsils removed when I was in my latter 20’s. So well worth it. Rough recovery, longer than doctors anticipated but overall never had a problem again after that. A few other things to think about is ,my tonsils were sooo swollen all the time they pushed my tongue forward in my mouth and had to literally learn how to talk again, my voice sounded funny for a while, also insurance companies are not usually willing to cover costs, they considered it elective surgery.
bad water causes tonsil problems. drink bottled or boiled water.
