Tonsil infection with a little blood in phlegm?
I’ve got a tonsil infection – nothing unusual, I’m quite used to them and it doesn’t seem a particularly bad one so far! I can feel my adenoids are swollen as well. Now, the difference is (this is a little gross!) when I snort back the phlegm at the back of my nose and spit it out, it has a little blood in it. I think this is probably because I was snorting coke at the weekend – no lectures, please… But just wanted to be sure. Anyone any ideas, or should I take this to the doc’s if it carries on? Thanks

The blood is likely to be caused from the ‘coke’. It can damage the delicate blood vessels at the back of the nose and constricts the blood flow which can lead to the flesh in your nose dying. That’s why people get nose bleeds after snorting and a loss of nose cartilage. This can last up to a week depending on how much you consumed. I would leave it for now, it should clear up with the tonsillitis. Gargle salt water, and drink pineapple juice to help your throat. Seeing as you are prone the tonsillitis you mat consider having them removed.
its the blood vessels in your nose causing the blood, most likely from the coke, cant you try something you swollow or smoke in future?
You should go to the doctor, it could be a break in a vein in your neck.
But watch out for any tests they might try to give you, you could be caught for the coccaine lol.
First of all i am very anti drugs so got no sympathy
But saying that you might need antibiotics
or better still don’t snort back it is disgusting
I’d go to the doctor just in case, it could just be to do with the coke but it could be that the infection is getting worse and you need antibiotics – or stronger ones if you’re already taking them. Tell the doctor about the cocaine, they’re not allowed to give out your medical history and hopefully should be professional enough to let it go and treat you the same.
