the iv antibiotics will have cleared up infection but sometimes it takes a while longer for all the white spots to go away. this is precisely the reason they want to do a tonsilectomy and possibly romove your adenoids while they are at it. you will most likely be given a post op antibiotic that will prevent any further infection as well as a cough syrup with codeine or another pain reliever. just try to drink plenty of fluids before and after your surgery, except for after midnight the night before your surgery, which i am sure they already told you. if you have any other questions, do not hesitate to call your dr. and if you call, ask if they did a strep culture. because usually strep will cause white patches on the tonsils as well as "strawberry" bumps in the mouth. if you break out in a skin rash, call your dr. immediately.
Have you been checked for a Strep infection?
drink some pst and gargle with tcp
I don’t know how old you are, but..
Have your parents give you half a shot glass of vodka, or another spirit.
Can be any alcohol so long as it’s not a sweetened thing, and is strong.
Rum, gin, vodka. Any of the strong stuff.
Can NOT be beer, wine, pre-mixed drinks.
1. Take a deep breath.
2. put all the alcohol in your mouth at once.
3. gargle for as long as you can with your head up, facing the ceiling.
4. spit it out.
5. what ever is left in your mouth after your first spit, swallow. So basically you’re swallowing just residual alcohol, not very much at all. We don’t want you to get drunk.
You can use this even on medication, because you are not swallowing the alcohol. The alcohol will act as a local anti-bacterial agent.
tips: don’t do this right before you go to bed. Don’t eat or drink anything for 2 minutes after you do this. Don’t swallow all of the alcohol, it doesn’t work in your stomach, it works in your throat. Do this twice a day.
That is only normal after the surgery. After the tonsils are removed, they cant get all the puss out. So antibodies are sent to clear them out, that’s why there looks like Flem and puss where your tonsils used to be. That will go away, when i mean go away, that means that you will swallow it lol….wait did u say that it was puss before you had them removed? well if so yes they will remove the tonsils if there infected because that the whole point of having surgery. And the puss means that your body is sending antibodies to come and try and help clear the infection. Good Luck and i hope you feel better!
