Severe sore throat with other symptoms, unlike any strep throat i've ever had. Tonsillitis?

I’m desperate at the moment. I went to the doctor with a 102.2 fever. I refused to take a throat culture, but I had obvious symptoms of strep..(Really really sore lymph nodes, a bag of pus in the back of my throat, headache/dizziness). I was put on antibiotics for strep, but I fear it is Tonsillitis. Swallowing is so painful and unbearable, it took me 15 minutes to drink a glass of fruit punch. I really need a second opinion from someone else. I’m burning up again. Thank you!
I woke up, and the lymph nodes were even more painful!

Okay I totally know what you mean! Except my throat was bleeding. ick! I had a double virus when I wa going through that. So you might want to ask your doctor if it is a virus or not. About the pain with drinking, and of coarse eating, you will just have to be patient.

Stick to your meds, and you might have to go through antibiotics twice…:/ Mine were not strong enough the first time. And if you are stressed out about anything, do not be!! It does not help.

ya after sleeping sore throat gets worsened usually. You regularly gargle with luke warm saline water. It is a natural remedy. Gargle how many times you could in a day. It is a natural remedy and it really works well buddy.
If tonsillitis the tonsils will get swollen and would be red and white follicles would be in the tonsils.
So i don’t think you are having tonsillitis
