Persistent sore throat – could it be tonsillitis?
I’ve had a very sore throat for the past two weeks. It seems to get worse in the evenings, presumably after a day of using my voice. I find it painful to swallow, but I have no other symptoms, no fever or headaches or anything else to suggest that it might be a cold or similar. Could it be tonsillitis? Though there are no white spots on my tonsils… And does anyone have any remedies for soothing my sore throat? I’ve tried everything over the counter, tea with honey, gargling with salt water…anything else?

it could be sinus drainage causing the soreness. you should go to the doctor. white spots are strep throat. tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils. Gargle warm salt water several times throughout the day. I would go to the doctor even if there is no temp. Persistent sore throat is nothing to thumb your nose at.
If you want herbal meds, try boiling ginger and drink the water. probably one regular-sized ginger into 2-3 cups water. we call it in the philippines "salabat". it soothes the throat
