I’m most likely having my tonsils taken out. I’ve never had any kind of surgery before:(

I have tonsil stones and I believe this causes me to have bad breath (not too sure if it is bad but it often doesn’t taste nice). Anyway, what could I do to remove these and does my bad-tasting mouth definitely mean I have bad breath?

Would rinsing/gargling with baking soda/powder help cure bad breath and maybe dislodge the tonsil stones?

and yes, I brush my teeth twice a day, sometimes floss and clean my tongue.

My tonsils were removed when I was a young kid. Ever since my late teenage years, I have been coughing up tonsil stones (whitish/beige sponge like material that smells incredibly foul.)

Hi – i’m in berlin on holiday, and have gotten a throat infection: swollen gums, hard to swallow, tonsils have white spots, mouth ulcers.
I dont want to see the doctor, is there anythin i can get here from the apotheke to get better?

Ok guys…ive had these annoying white things.,known as tonsil stones..and now ive scheduled an appointment wit my doctor..im visiting the doctor next wednesday and ive told my mom about that problem..she said she doesnt care if they remove my tonsils by surgery just as long as im well and theyre gone..ive been getting these nasty annoying things a lot lately..last one i had was about 4 weeks ago but now theres one hiding in the back of my mouth but i cant reach it..i try to but this fails..all that happens is me ending up gagging in a failed attempt..its unreachable and it looks so nasty..i get them nasty things a lot now…should i keep my tonsils or have a tonsillectomy performed on me??,help anyone?!?!?!?
Also if i have tonsillectomy,will my tonsils grow back???

so a while ago, i had oral sex with a guy and my throat soon started to swell. after the oral sex, we were eating and he has cats, which i’m allergic to so i thought that maybe cat dander got in my food. so anyway, i went to the emergency room because idk how severe it was going to be. They put me on I.V. benadryl. for the next few days, the swelling got smaller and eventually went away.

the second oral sex experience, we weren’t by his cats, but then my throat got swollen again. This made me rethink that i might have been allergic to his semen. Since I.V. benadryl made it go away, i just took over the counter benadryl but it never went away. eventually, my throat started hurting so bad that i couldn’t swallow anything. I went to the allergy doctor and he said that my tonsils were swollen.

He then gave me Prednisone, which is kind of like the same thing as Cortazone. Anyway, that made my throat stop hurting and burning, but it didn’t make the swelling go all the way away. The first day it did, but it came back at night. I’m supposed to take the medicine for 5 days, its now the 3rd day, and it doesn’t even have an effect on the swelling anymore.

Is there a way to make the swelling go away completely? i’m slightly paranoid now. Its been over 2 months and it hasn’t gone away! Will the removal of my tonsil make it any better?
also, i haven’t had any contact to his semen since. so its not like i come in contact with it and then my throat swells again. Its been swollen for 2 months now just from that last exposure.
