I have what I believe to be a Middle ear infection. I have read other questions and visited webmd and all the info i have found is it should clear up within a few days. Also I read that it happens because of inflamed adenoids. But when i was 4 yrs old I had both my tonsils and adenoids removed.

I’m desperate at the moment. I went to the doctor with a 102.2 fever. I refused to take a throat culture, but I had obvious symptoms of strep..(Really really sore lymph nodes, a bag of pus in the back of my throat, headache/dizziness). I was put on antibiotics for strep, but I fear it is Tonsillitis. Swallowing is so painful and unbearable, it took me 15 minutes to drink a glass of fruit punch. I really need a second opinion from someone else. I’m burning up again. Thank you!
I woke up, and the lymph nodes were even more painful!

I have surgery to get my tonsils removed on the 18th of June (soooon) . I usually take perscription allergy medicine (clariton, generic) And Heartburn medicine (Zantac, generic)–and I’m supposed to everyday. Do I still take these? I took Zantac last night…
I’m pretty sure you can take Tylonal. I know, no ibprofen.
But what can I, should I, and deffinatley CAN’T take? And when do I stop taking the stuff I shouldn’t?
Please and thank you for answers <3 I’m kinda freaking out. I’m 14, and I’ve never had surgery or anything.

I get a lot of sore throats, and my doctor often never checks for strep throat, she just prescribes antibiotics and decides it COULD be strep throat. Well, now she’s angry, and says she doesn’t want to prescribe any more antibiotics, and that I should get my tonsils out, so I went to an ear/nose/throat doctor who looked at my throat, said my tonsils were small, and that it might not really help if I got my tonsils out, and that it might cause vocal problems. She seemed to think the risks outweighed the benefits, and said I was welcome to get the surgery, but it may not be necessary. My other doctor angrily said that doctor was just trying to protect herself, and I feel confused. Are all these sore throats or white spots on my tonsils strep throat infections, or are they just shed material building up in the tonsil crypts? Does that really require surgery? How do you tell if you have strep throat or just tonsil stones when you’ve got a doctor that won’t do strep tests? Is there any way to tell by looking, or by the symptoms? Should I get the surgery? Will it help? It’s so expensive I really don’t want to do it… Has anyone else had this problem?

I just started getting all the symptoms of tonsillitis and got an ear infection. The night before the symptoms got the worse me and my boyfriend were kissing a lot and now were wondering what his chances are of getting sick. At the time the only symptom I was having was loss of voice.the rest came the next day.

After reading countless people’s methods for removing the things, I’m wondering how much your breath has improved as a result? Or do you just do it out of habit?
I’m considering getting a waterpik for this purpose.

So on May 18 im getting my tonsils and adenoids removed. What can I expect before, during and after surgery(im 14 if that helps) and what are some ways to speed up the healing process? Thanks and GOD bless!

I had my tonsils taken out at the beginning of march and I’ve healed completely, but lately I’ve been coughing up a lot of mucus/drainage. Sometimes it’s even a little chunky. (Gross, I know. I’m sorry.) My dad thinks I’m sick, but I don’t feel sick.
Is this normal or should I make an appointment with my doctor?

I’ve been through a series of sickness for 2 weeks now from pluerisy to fever, and now, what looks to me, as a infected tonsil issue. I want to know if it’s bacterial infection or viral so I can take these anti-biotics that I have still from 3 months ago.
Oh, and it was the same problem, so I know the drugs are for this treatment.
