It started on Sunday with a slight sore throat but by the end of the night I was burning up, even though I felt extremely cold (especially my feet). It then worsened to bad coughs, a really painful sore throat, and I recently started having a stuffy nose too. I also get nasty little tonsil stones every couple days. Right now my throat feels like its burning because it hurts so much and I’m coughing up nasty little phlegm.
Any ideas on what it could be and if I should go see a doctor? Thanks.

These are my symptoms, day-by-day: (Im a young teen btw)
Friday: I woke up and I had pain when swallowing. Keep in mind, on Thursday I just had a friend come over and we didn’t do anything much; but she wasn’t sick. On Friday, I drank a lot of water and I didn’t feel the pain when swallowing as much. Later, it came back.
Saturday: Same thing as yesterday. I wake up with a headache and pain with swallowing. it lasted throughout the day, except when I was under the influence of tylenol. I felt sickly in some parts of the day. When I went in the pool, I felt better; then later it came back.
Today (Sunday)- I had trouble sleeping, and when I woke up I couldn’t speak without making strange noises; but I could whisper. I went into my mom’s room and she said it was most likely larangytis. It was hell, hell, hell for a couple of hours. I could barely speak. Then a couple hours after I woke up, I could just barely speak in a normal voice.
For breakfast I had toast, water, and some bacon. After breakfast, I gargled with warm water & salt, and then had a Vitamin C pill. I can still just barely talk in a normal voice. Then, my Mom and I became concerned that it may be tonsilitis. My mom looked at my tonsils and saw something different from my healthy sisters tonsils. I will try to get a picture. There weren’t enormous white dots, but she thought it may have been small white dots. it could’ve also been saliva reflecting because of the flashlight.

I went to the doctor and he said I had some sinus infection, or nasal drip. He prescribed me nasonex. When I took it for the first time last night it seemed to work for me to get passed the irritation and for me to get to sleep. But can someone answer my question ? I forgot to ask the doc. Btw I’m on vaca so it was alot of money to see him. I don’t wanna go back.

im 14 and female, throughout my child hood i’ve had tonsillitis 14 times! my tonsils have been left with really deep craters in them, people say to me that the craters in my tonsils are the deepest they’ve ever seen!
my throat usually hurts, at the end of everyday my throat and my ears hurt too (more so the left ear and tonsil)
i went to the doctor about a year ago, he gave me some mouth wash that tasted foul. it doesn’t work at all so i don’t use it anymore. i always have a disgusting taste in my mouth and sometimes bad breath along with the soreness.
my tonsils are huge all the time! i usually take two tonsil stones out a day, today i tried to get one out but i pushed it in further and popped out another crater! HORRIBLE!!!!
my doctor hates me and he wont offer any advice or alternate solutions for my throat. i cant get another doctor though!
i just want to know what i can do??? i hate my throat, i want my tonsils out!!! can anyone offer advice or have had any experience?
thanks
i cant get another doctor because i live in a tiny village where there is only one doctor. the hospital is over 50 miles away so i’m stuck! my parents want a new doctor as much as i do but we cant move town because we live on my dad’s farm.

What is wrong with my soft palette and tongue?
I had my tonsils taken out on Dec 18th and I’m 31 years old, on the 9th day of recovery I got sick with something my husband had, and went to the dr. he gave me a zpak, well I started getting better, then all the sudden I’m back to being sick again with a swollen soft pallette (it even has a red swollen x shape up there),and swollen tongue. My throat also hurts, I don’t have a fever or anything, but am baffled? I am now allergic to a lot of foods, when I eat broccli or carrots my throat starts itching and my stomach hurts so I have to take benadryl and then fall asleep. Did I make a mistake letting them take my tonsils out, will I ever recover. I don’t have a clue what’s wrong with me. Please give me any suggestions. Although I have no fever or anything, my throat feels like it is stuck together when I wake up in the morning.

If a person couldn’t brush everyday, could they develop tonsil stones even though they never had them before? Does poor dental hygiene cause tonsil stones? If they began brushing twice a day and using mouthwash, would the tonsil stones go away?

Phil underwent minor surgery for the removal of his tonsils. Serious complications developed when he was administered penicillin, to which he was allergic. the doctor denied responsibility because he did not know about he allergy.
Does this seem that Phil has a cause of action against the doctor or the hospital? Was Phil partly responsible for failing to voluntarily to thell the doctor of his allergy?
