I am 27 & for as long as i can remember i have always had probs with sore throats and ear aches. Many years ago i was told that i should have my tonsils and adnoids out. Never did and was never told anything like that again, but have continued to have issues. Both my dad and brother had theirs removed, now i am wondering i should. Over the last couple years i have had strep-throat about 4 times…one episode wouldnt go away even after 2 rounds of antibiotics. Now, i pretty much have a sore or irriated throat off and on ALL the time it seems. Just recently, i found this CRUD stuck in the folds of my tonsils…i was completely freaked out and grossed out. I looked it up online and on WebMD and such and found that it is definately tonsil stones. Lately i have been digging out those nasty lil stones at least once a day and today i pulled one out that was rather large. I dont have health insurance so i have put off going to the doc. BUT, i have noticed when i use a q-tip to get the stones out, there is a lil bit of blood also…very light colored. Is this at all normal? I know i should see a doc, but i just cant afford it right now. I am wondering…has anyone else had these and what do you do? Obviously if i had my tonsils out it should correct all the issues right? But isnt it true that having your tonsils removed as an adult is more dangerous and more likely that you will have complications?

I am 16 and I got my tonsils out almost a week ago, and I keep having an itchy feeling at the back of my throat, I also have this really thick saliva it is clear but it has the consistency of syrup, I occasionally cough up some mucus and sometimes it has this orange/red stuff mixed in with it along with sometimes a chunk of something red… I know these are several questions but I hop you are able to help with any of them if they are related or not.

so i’ve had what i think is tonsil stones for a couple years now but up until now i had no idea what they were.I finally researched and realized they were tonsil stones.all the symptoms and conditions fit perfectly.for years they were only annoying, but yesterday i felt actual pain in my tonsils when i swallowed.i took a flashlight and saw that there were 2 or 3 stones in one tonsil. that’s where the pain was from. late at night 1 came out, relieving me of pain.i went to the doctor today and my usual doctor was out so i had a substitute doctor. i explained everything i had experienced including the new pain. it seemed as though he wasn’t listening to a word i said. instead he tested me for the flu (even though i told him i had no fever) and for mono.all tests were negative and he said that i have a "common" virus and should just take tylenol and chloraseptic. i am really upset that he didnt listen. what do i do? should i go to the dentist instead? wait for my doctor to come back?
well online i read that the doctor can even remove them for you. when i asked him if he could take them out, he shook his head "NO!" as if there was something wrong with that. i honestly think he didnt even see the tonsil stone, that’s my main concern. he must have thought it was like pus or a sore spot or something.

I’m very sensitive to pain meds (narcotics), I usually end up taking 800 mg motrin due to vomiting but surgeon says that won’t be enough. I’ve had 5 surgery’s in the last 8 yrs. (tubal, tonsil removal, hernia repair, gallbladder out, and lump removed from breast,) and every time I get really sick, they give me phenergan but it doesn’t help, also I’m allergic to codeine, their suggesting percoxet which makes me sick.
I have 3 kids to take care of and hubby will only be off 4 days. so can’t be completely drugged out. any suggestions

I just had tonsil surgery and I’m taking morphine for the pain but I’m not sure it is managing my pain the way it is suppose to. So I’m wondering if there is another painkiller that would more effective. Does morphine work better on some people then it does on others and vice versa with Percocet even though they are derived from the same source.

I have bad breath as long as i can remember. It is really embarrassing. The dentist can’t find anything that can cause my bad breath.I have tonsil stones.I’ve searched about it, and saw videos on youtube people that have tonsil stones that are far worst than mine. And i think these tonsil stones cause my breath to stink really bad.I have yearly general check ups with the company doctor, and the results are ok.No disease what so ever.I’m 40 right now and i have been living like this for a very long time. Can anyone find me a real cure?Or the tonsil stone is the real culprit?
