Tonsil Stones Symptoms, Treatments & Removal
My tonsils are really swollen and I might have Tonsillitis, so I was wondering if Amoxicillin can help fight it
I have been getting these tonsil stones for years and I’ve had enough of them.
I have enlarged tonsils and have had since I was about 8. They used to look "meaty" and irritated even though they wouldn’t even be sore. They just look large with a bunch of holes now. I get those tonsil stones every once in awhile. I hate my tonsils, it is hard to swallow and they make me snore really bad, which is so embarrassing because I am about to get married. I don’t want to be snoring! My mom told me she heard me snoring all the way from down the hall the other morning when I had a cold. Is getting my tonsils removed the only way out. Are there any other procedures that do not involve surgery. Every time I have asked a doctor they just kind of shoo the issue and act clueless. I had to google everything to get answers. Thanks for the advice.
they don’t really bother me it is just so embarrasing that they make me snore. I have tried tons of snore stuff and the only thing that works is to lay on my stomach.
She is 4 years old and suppose to get the new procedure done called colbation tonsil removal. I would love to hear from anyone about recovery time and just thier experience with this.
I have had it twice before, a few years ago and I got antibiotics from the doctor.
I can’t find a torch to look inside my mouth, so I can’t see if my tonsils have puss on them.
When I swallow it feels like a bruise where my left tonsil is. It feels like that when I talk, too. Is that what it feels like? I’ve forgotten what it felt like last time lol. I’ve had it on and off the last 3 days.
It nearly kills me to twist my tongue to the left.
Are these symptoms of tonsillitis? Is it necessary to see a doctor to get antibiotics? Can I get better without antibiotics?
Thank you
After some googling, I believe what I have now are Tonsil Stones.. Now I’m wondering, could they be connected to my sinus problems? I’m 19 and up until I finished year 12 I never ever needed to carry a tissue with me I never had nasal problems life was great. Shortly after year 12 (two years ago) I started getting problems always having an annoying twitch in my nose or runny nose basically hayfever symptoms, but I can’t go anywhere without tissues, lots of tissues, I can’t even chew without my nose starting to run, it’s embarrasing having to wipe my nose at the dinner table. And as far as I can remember, at the same time my nasal issues started.. I started getting the white chunks in my throat.. (Tonsil Stones) I get them pretty much monthly. But all I want to know is… If I cure my tonsil stones.. will my nasal problems improve? Are they connected? I hate not being able to enjoy myself or wear clothes without pockets cos I need to find somewhere to keep a tissue.
ok so just last weekend i got super sick, and my throat was hurting like HELL. it gradually got better over time.. and now it feels fine. but i have one problem. i have TONS of tonsil stones now. why is that????? and how do i get rid of them??
My ENT surgeon has prescribed me to get this surgery done. But i’m curious about some things
1. Is this a minor or a major surgery?
2. What r the detriments i’ll face if i didnt get this done?
3. How many hours/minutes will it take?
4. How are u supposed to eat after the surgery? Will they give me only liquid food? If so,for how long?
5. How long will the pain last?
6. How many days to go until i fully recover & can get back to my usual routine?
Oh there’s another question I forgot to ask? That is,
7. How does it affect your voice & speaking ability? Will they ask me not to speak for a certain period? Oh will it hurt when i speak after the surgery?
Does the fact that I still have my tonsils make me susceptible to sinus infections? I get them multiple times a year and it’s really hard on my health.Should I talk to my doctor about having my tonsils removed?
Im pretty positive that I have tonsillitis. Im 19 and admittedly, sometimes there are nights when I dont brush my teeth. Its gross I know, but I just get home and Im so tired! Ive had symptoms for the past six months. I have awful breath and a terrible taste i
n my mouth. My spit is so foul smelling ![]()
I also get these little white things that come into my mouth and they are so nasty!! They smell terrible!! They come up at the most awkward times… However, they mostly appear in the morning. This is so gross and the smell makes me sick to my stomach. I know I have to go to the doctor for diagnosis but Ive been told that there isnt one except for to take better care of my oral hygiene. Also, I have been told that I could gargle with salt water.
Looking in the mirror, I cannot see anything on my tonsils but I know they are there. I can feel them and they hurt when I swallow!
Help!
Should I go to the doctor? Will I need Surgery.
I would love any advice!!
Please and Thank you!
