My kid has a mild sleep apnea that is 5 episodes that lasts about 10 second in the hour on average. The ENT specialist is recommending a surgery to remove tonsils. My question : Is this absolutely required given it is a mind case(as I have been told)? Any side effect/longterm effect if I don’t get this done? Will this surgery absolutey cure the sleep apnea?
Thanks in advance for your kind advice.

I feel like i have my throat filled with stuff.. And when I cough I cough up tonsil stones not every time though. I brush my teeth twice a day, so that what causing me to be concerned about this… Like I have this discomfort in my throat and can’t swallow my saliva easly.. all I can think of that it may be tonsil stones… So is there any way I can take them out on my own? I thought brushing my teeth daily would get these lil annoyance away. Any ideas? Or maybe my feeling in the throat is something else?
Basically I just don’t get why i’m getting tonsil stones and swallowing discomfort, when i’m brushing my teeth once at morning and at night. Could this be some other type of medical reason?

my names jake im 18 and i had some tonsil stones but i keep removing them everytime they pop up haha. those little white balls were scaring me for a bit i was wandering if there is anything bad (besides losing your lunch) when you poke your tonsils to remove these annoying things. i have a couple of questions actually its pretty much my symptoms can you tell me what you think i can do and what you think it is ?? just a guess untill i can get insurance to go to the doctors.
1.there is little holes in the back of my throat i can feel it with the back of my tounge there right near my tonsils and there bothering me a lot. i was wandering if there was a way to lessen the irritation or get rid of them for good. oh and what they are.
2. ive been having really sharp pains in my stomach area more like the abdominal region there really sharp they take my breath away sometimes. my sister said it sounds like acid reflux which i do have a little bit. if it is can you tell me a home remedy to make it go away and what to eat and what not to eat. thank you =D
3. a while back i was being stupid and opened my mouth as far as it went and it felt like my mouth got stuck in that position haha it felt like a line that popped out under my jaw went from one side to the other but went away. now when i move my mouth i can hear some weird sound in my ear (its not in my ear i can just hear it) it sounds like either something rubbing together or a faint little cracking sound kinda like a sizzle haha i was wandering if i messed up my jaw thank you =D
and if you need more info please dont hesitate to ask i will check back and give them to you
thank you a lot in advance.

My sinuses have been slightly draining for weeks, now the left sinus is draining pretty bad, my left tonsil is really swollen and hurts, and the lymph node on the left side is swollen. I don’t feel "sick" other than this, not run down or fevered or anything, Could it be a sinus infection?

They’re not incredibly sore, but it’s uncomfortable to swallow/eat, and somewhat awkward to breathe. I don’t seem to have any other symptoms.
Most sites say it should go away on its own in 4-10 days, but I’m getting HPV vaccine #2 tomorrow, so I guess I’ll ask the doctor to have a look.
So, do you think it’s tonsillitis…or strep? I’m afraid to sleep…is there any chance they could swell and cut off breathing?! I’m home alone tonight, and therefore terrified of dying! Haha. Help!

Should I generally worry about getting CJD?
My country doesn’t have registered "mad cow" cases (only a couple of sporadic CJD cases, and 1 genetic as far as I know) as far as I know, I generally consume a lot of meat, I eat beef too, like everyone else. I had a tonsil removal in 1995, and that’s the only operation I had. I don’t count dentist sessions.
Am I at risk of CJD?
