I really want to know because I have strep right now. I have NOT had my tonsils out so is it possible? Please give me info because I am the type of person who worries about the SMALLEST thing.

hi i am 19 years old and i am getting my tonsils taken out on december 7th, now this is going to most likely mess up my days for when i donate blood.. i normally donate on the 19th of every two months.. so i want to know how long after my operation for my tonsil removal do i have to wait till i can donate again??
idk if i would have to wait but i know the red cross is strict and they ask if you had surgrey within the last year or something like that and also bc i was under anistisia and stuff and if i loose blood. and i know i cant donate blood if i am on really strong pain meds which i know i will be on

about 7 months ago i got tonsillitis and since then it just wont go away!…a few days after finishing my anit bitoics the tonsillitis comes back, i was even on them for 3 months at one point and a week after coming of them all my symptoms came back..my doctor did a ct scan and found i had sinus disease she said the infection was dripping down in to my throat casuing tonsillitis but 2 weeks ago i had surgery to remove the sinus disease and a few days after i got a really bad case of tonsillitis, iv been off the anti bitoics for 3 days now and today iv woken up with painfull swollen lymph nodes, red face, awful taste in mouth and my tonils are starting to get white patches again so im 90 % sure iv got tonsillitis again!..this is getting beyond a joke now its really affecting my life iv had to give up college and i dont have a social life because im constantly ill is there anything else i can do because obviously the anti biotics arnt working?

I’ve recently suffered with bacterial tonsilitis, which I cured with a course of antibiotics. After inspecting my throat today, I noticed that I have a few very small white spots on my tonsils, which I believe to be tonsil stones. They have an entirely different appearance to the large pusy spots that appeared BEHIND my tonsils due to the tonsillitis.

I’ve never been a sufferer of bad breath, or as far as I’m aware tonsil stones (the rare one’s popped out in a coughing fit but everyone get’s that, right?!) but at the moment I have a horrible mucusy taste at the back of my throat all the time, which I’m guessing is because of the tonsil stones.

SO, how can I treat ‘em? I’m feeling pretty self concious about the icky breath at the moment.

I have a bad case of Tonsil Stones. I went to see my family doctor and he said there was nothing wrong with my tonsils and he suggested to me to try baking soda and peroxide toothpaste and floss more to clean it out but that isnt working.

I cough up a stone at least once a day and its getting on my nerves. I have another appointment comming up but it is only in the middle of April. I will ask him to reffer me to a ENT specialist. I tried everything from chewing gum to stop drinking milk but they dont work. The gum doesnt even mask my breath anymore and I and getting sick. I stick my finger down my throat every morning and I always get 1 stone out.

I want to know if any of you out there know any tips to take away the bad breath. Drinking water, mints, gum to eatting all the time dont work for me any more. The eatting works more but I cant stuff my face with food all day.

I am desperate because I think its affecting my dating to. I am desperate for help Please!!

Our 2 year old boy has suffered from lots of ear infection and chest infections. He also kept failing his hearing tests. He has now started snoring badly and suffering from sleep apnia (stops breathing in sleep for a few seconds). He is constantly tired and gumpy.

Took him to an ENT surgeon who has advised removal of tonsils (which she says are quite large) and adenoids.

Anyone had any similar experiences? Any advice?

i get a sinus infection once ever two-three months so i got my tonsils and adenoids taken out, after that it got a little better but im still getting them on a regular basis. how can i prevent this? i take claritan-d when i get them but that only temporally holds it off.

Should I get my tonsils removed a week before Thanksgiving? I want to eat yummy food but will i be able to? will that give my tonsils enough time to heal? Or should I reschedule after Thanksgiving.

I so happen to have researched about the symptoms im having with my throat just recently, but then i saw the descriptions made by tonsil stones patients and some fit to what im experiencing such as expelling white particles that have foul odor and most of the times easy to squish just recently.. sometimes i feel like after i eat, some food gets stuck, i dont know but, back then about 4 months ago i spewed out this pretty big lump, maybe about a centimeter long… it was covered with green and looks disgusting.. eww. so i checked up my tonsil but it was really clear, but now i feel this lump feeling in my lower throat as if something is slightly blocking when i gulp… and it feels somewhere in the front just around the larynx and trachea.. could it an abnormality? a pouch trap or something that traps food? i dont know but it’s kinda just a little bit discomforting so i just hope i could really know what it is… thanks alot…
