its been 8 days after surgery and i ran out of pain medicine and someone told me to take ibruprofen for the pain. The reason i’m asking this is because i was reading were it said not to take aspirin because it could cause excess bleeding in the throat and could be deadly and i was seeing if ibuprofen would be safe. Thank you

I have had bad symptom’s for 3 days now and I don’t know what I have
my voice has gone really quiet and I feel really hot then suddenly
very cold I keep spiting up flem/glut when I stand up I feel dizzy .

I have not problems eating or drinking but when I try to sleep breathing
becomes hard.When I look in the mirror at my tonsils they look swollen.
I went to dr martin da silva this morning he said that there is no sufficent evidence that antibiotics work on these conditions.
He prescripted sore throat lozenges
paracetamol,gazzles and neurofen

I was thinking it was a tonsil infection or so on. Or something got stuck behind there and caused an infection but I don’t know. I need some input.

my symptoms: tonsillitis, headache for 3 weeks, pain in both forearms, dizziness. What is wrong with me? I have been stressed at work, but now I switched jobs and I am no longer stressed at work, but stressed about my health.
I have been to the doctor and had a good CT scan. Not sure where to turn next.

I continuously get tonsil stones they smell too horrible to survive with i clean and clean but the smell keeps coming back will a tonsillectomy keep them from coming back once and for all?

I’ve had tonsillitis once before and I had to go to the emergency room for it because it hurt sooo bad :[

I know that last week I had it again because remember the symptoms from last year.

Today it has gotten better so I’m happy about that
But should I try to get my tonsils removed?
What’s the process for doing so, would it be a good idea, and does it hurt afterwards?
Oh and would I be missing school for it, and approximately how much?

I’ve had strep and tonsillitis before and the patch looks similar to that, however, with those infections, I’ve gotten other very bad symptoms. I haven’t had any other symptoms and it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse. There is just one small patch and my throat is a little sore, but it’s always sore from allergies. Could it be allergies or postnasal drip..or something of the like?

No matter what I do, I continue to get them in my throat. I scrape them out, but as time goes by, they are there again. I cannot afford to have my tonsils taken out, so is there a home remedy I can use to get rid of them. They are annoying!

I heard tonsil stones can cause bad breath

One of my tonsils has been bigger than the other for atleast 6 months. My throat is not sore at all, but when I push on my tonsil a build up of white stuff squeezes out of my tonsil. It builds up again over the next couple of days, and then It squeezes out again. It tastes really bad and gives me bad breath. Im pretty sure its not tonsilitis because its been happening over 6 months and doesnt hurt at all. Any ideas on what this is

My son had adnoid removal and ear tube placement surgery in april. The ENT didnt want to take out his tonsils yet (even though really big but not infected) because she said it would be alot of surgery for a 3 year old. Today we went back for a check up and his tonsils have grown and are close to touching each other. She said he doesnt need to have them removed its up to me. Has anyone ever had this problem, or heard of it and what did you do? He’s my only child and Im a very paranoid mommy sorry.

My tonsils are very large and although I can breathe all right, I’m worried that they will become even larger than they already are. Would getting them removed by a doctor be necessary?

My son has had an infection in his tonsils that keeps returning. We’ve been on three different antibiotics (first two for 10 days each, the third for 20 days). Each time the antibiotics helped the infection to go away (suggesting it’s bacterial) and two days ago his ENT doctor said he looks fine. That was two days ago, the infection is returning — I’ve watched the white puss-filled sacs return over the past day. The tests for strep and Epstein Barr came back negative. CAN ANYONE HELP? PLEASE!

After browsing the web , I found a source (wikipedia) that stated that tonsils are being removed more often among adults and children for sleep apnea (airway obstruction while sleeping), snoring, and upper airway obstruction. Children who have sleep apnea can do poorly in school, are tired and fatigued during the day, and have some links to ADHD.

Now ,I’m no longer a child nor do I have Adhd, however I do have a slight problem focusing on stuff and paying attention, and since I was a kid have had serious trouble falling asleeps at night, and was pretty shocked to find out that all along this may have been caused by a few peices of flesh at the back of my throat. Anyways if there’s anyone with a slight meducal background out there I have a few questions to ask?

1) How does a tonsil removal help you sleep and focus better?

2) Could I get my wisdom teeth pulled out at the same time?

3) Could I get them removed then be able to enjoy a vacation?

Any info would be appreciated.

my tonsils are extremely swollen to a point where it feels like i have 2 gumballs in my mouth. is there anything i can do about it if so what? my neck also hurts and is swollen. thank you.

My tonsils are quiet swollen and i have white spots/lumps on them. i had a sore throat but it is kinda gone but i find it hard to swallow and breath. I have had a bit of a headache and temperature if that means anything. I went to pick at the spots but they are kinda stuck and i made it bleed a bit. Please let me know what you think.
Still havent been to the docs but my throat doesnt hurt at all now and tonsils are not as swollen but still have spots on them. should i still go to docs or is it gettin better now????

i’m into hard-core snoring, especially when i’m tired or have cold. its been disturbing my family’s sleep for pretty long. i went to see the ENT doctor, who after diagnosing me suggested that my tonsil is the one of the main obstructions in my sleep. at that time my heart and lungs have to work all the more, so that i get proper oxygen. i’m 37 now and the doctor said that because of heart and lungs overworking, i may land up with my first-heart-attack by 50. thus i should have my tonsil removed which stop the obstruction in the intake of my oxygen and also will put an end to the tonsilitis which i frequently get during winters. i’m just not sure, as whether a tonsil removal, is the soln., to my snoring and its surgery would not result in any other unseen problems.

so for the past week i have been getting what i assume to be tonsil stones out of my throat. i’d say about 11 in total and they aren’t exactly small. i do not see any more so hopefully they are gone but i am wondering will i be more apt to get them again..this was the first time i have had anything like this
