I’ve had them for about a year and at first I wasn’t too bothered but they just won’t go away! I’ve got tonsilitus too, and have asked my doctor repeatedly to have them removed. Is there any way to get rid of tonsil stones without actually getting my tonsils out? Also, i am aware they can cause halitosis, what I want to know is that is it constant or what? Because, obviously I can’t smell my own breath, but iv taken to chewing gum, which becomes an expensive habit when you’re constantly scared ur tonsils might be making u smell ):

So me and my sister were having a discussion about the illness we have had over the past year, and a very argumentative subject came up of which was more painful, uncomfortable, just all round worse than the other. We talked about it i said it seems like they are tied and she said no having my tonsils removed was blah blah than u getting mono…just for the record i didn’t have a mild case of mono i had a pretty bad case of it. So i want ur guys/girls opinion which do u think is worse tonsil removal or mononucleosis?

its been five days so far after i had my tonsils removed. i have intense throat and ear pain, extreme trouble eating, and a really disgusting taste in my mouth even though i brush my teeth non stop. any explanation for the weird taste and how much longer until the pain goes away. i don’t know if age has to do with how long it takes but im 13 . PLZ HELP! thanks

i have had tonsil stones for a while but on my left side it is HUGE. i can tell stones are in it but they wont come out. i have tried and tried pushing on my tonsil til it bled. but i dont know where an opening is where they can come out. it could possibly be one big one i think. i have no idea what to do. please help.

Last week I had really bad allergies, and now I have tonsil stones in my mouth (I didn’t know what it was until I googled it…just tiny white things in my tonsils). They don’t smell weird or anything, they’re just annoying and my throat kind of hurts from trying to get one of them out. Is this normal, or will I likely start getting them more frequently?

I have been to the doctor, and she doesn’t know if I have glandular fever or tonsillitis. She is however treating me for tonsillitis, which she thinks is the most likely option. She has put me on strong antibiotics, pseudoephidrine, and nurofen.

I have these symptoms:
Extremely sore throat and Swollen glands in the throat
Puss on throat glands and flem on back of throat and some in chest
Very sore neck, and sore muscles all over my body
Some fatigue
Loss of appetite
Headaches
Blocked up nose, ears, sinus
Night sweats
fever

In my experience, these antibiotics or especially the other medications (because I have been taking them for longer) should have done something by now, but nothing is happening.

Is there anyway to tell if it if glandular fever or tonsillitis and can glandular fever be treated? How long should I take to rest?
