I am getting my tonsils removed on friday, and im worried it will hurt a lot. Please help

i’ve had tonsil stones for a long time but lately they really hurt, makes my throat really sore, and i makes it feel like i have a rock the size of a golf ball on the side of my throat that hurts a ton, should i get medical attention or is this fixable at home? if it is fixable at home what can i do to fix it?

I’m getting one of my tonsils removed and I am SCARED. Naturally I will think about the negatives of having the operation. I just need people to calm me down and tell be the truth.
