Those little tonsil stones at the back of my throat disgust and annoy me, and I am wondering if I asked my doctor to get my tonsils removed whether he would let me or not. I know the recovery after surgery is supposed to be extremely painful but I think its worth it if I never have to experience tonsil stones again. So will my doctor let me get them removed? And has anyone here every experienced a tonsillectomy? Is it worth it? Thanks

My daughter is just turning 3 in May. She had a set of eartube a year and a half ago, but they fell out. Now she is having a lot of ear infections again and water in both ears for about 4 months now.
Also her tonsils are almost touching each other and has problems breathing with nose. She is snoring when she is awake or sleeping.
We saw her ENT today, and she told us that she needs to have her tonsils and adenoinds out and a new set of ear tube.
I am so afraid of the surgery and recovery. Can anyone give me an advice on the surgery or recovery?

OK well.. i licked a bag that was in my purse and i guess my purse is very.. dirty (don’t ask why I did it i learned my lesson of being stupid) like 7 or 8 hours later my throat started to ..itch like i was getting a cold. The next morning my neck was like sore on the right when i swallowed and nose was stuffy .. and sneezed a couple times and coughed, and i think i had a fever because of the ..dizziness i guess? but after yesterday i stopped sneezing now im congested and it hurts to swallow but.. it doesn’t hurt alot just a slight pain or soreness if you will.. is it Allergies? Common Cold? Flu? Strep Throat? Tonsillitis? What do the symptoms look like ?? Should I see a Doctor?
Just checked: I cant see anything swollen .. Tonsillitis is out? and Strep?
No chills.. and my voice is leaving me …

Im 18, and as far back as i can rememer, even as young as 8 years old, ive been plagued with throat infections. Maily my tonsils which become red and inflamed, sore, and also lumpy, sometimes white spots appear, sometimes not…. but regardless of what the type of infection, tonsilitis, strep throat, pus pockets… etc… i end up with a sore and infected throat at least 6 times a year. the doctors seem stumped. any help? thank you
oh, also, i do keep up on my oral hygeine. i dont think that has anything to do with it.

I had a surgery on my tonsils and they have been removed, now after many years, I feel dryness in my gorge and it make my tired in speaking particularly in the dry weather and I feel chock in my sound cords, is it right which I described, or this surgery hasn’t any influences like that? If ok, then how can I improve this problem?

I’m 17 and I get tonsil stones very often, often times they are as big as peas. I always feel like there is a lump in the back of my throat and it’s not always easy to get the stone out.
What are some good home remedies, that you have tried?
If not, what are medical/surgical options?
