A tonsilectomy is normally a routine procedure. It sounds as if not having the surgery will cause a lot more problems for you. Talk with your surgeon about your concerns.
Don’t worry about it. I know about a dozen kids who’ve had their tonsils out and i’m 15. I’ve known kids who are 4 who got them out and kids who are 15. Its a routine procedure and is done very very very often. I wouldn’t worry at all about it.
I had a tonsillectomy in November 07 I think. There aren’t any complications that I know of. Except the doctors tell you that you are more prone to getting sick. Hope this helps.
