I had a bad infection in my tonsils last March and woke up one morning while I was sick literally choking on my own tonsils. I had to stay in the hospital for 24 hours on IV and no solid foods and then have antibiotics for even longer, and because I didn't get it treated right away if I get another tonsil infection I will have to have my tonsils taken out. Trust me it is better to get an antibiotic right away than have to deal with all that! Go to the doctor and get antibiotics!
