I have tonsil stones and constantly have a sore throat now. My parents think that if they don’t go away i will probably have to have my tonsils removed. I was just curious how painful it is

Any operation involves some degree of pain. After all your body is being invaded by metal. On the positive note, A little suffering now is prefferable to a LOT of suffering later on if the operation is not done. My teen daughter just had it done and she suffered for about three days with minor pain and the meds took care of them for her. Now she is pain free and in much better spirits. If you have ever cut hand with no medical treatment needed, it is probably six times worse but the medications you will be on make it very comfortable.
It all depends on the person we all have different levels of tolerance for pain. It will be soar for like a week, soft food’s but then back to normal. My brother got his taken out. He can breath much better now too. =3
Well, it is surgery! But,you will have a very sore throat for a few days. As difficult as it might seem, start drinking cool liquids as soon as you are permitted. It helps to use your throat muscles as soon as you can. Just don’t drink milk or milk products and no straws after surgery. Your doctor should have instructions for you too.
