I never got it removed, all my doctor said is if I got 5 or more strep throats in 1 year they will have to take them both out. I haven't had a strep throat since. Even though you may not notice it, they do restrict quite a bit of breathing. As soon as I got it done, the biggest difference I noticed is that I no longer got frequent headaches like I did before. Presumably because I was taking in more oxygen. Not only that, I also didn't breathe as heavy. I'd consult with a doctor about it. Unless they recommend it, there is really no reason to be concerned about it. However, it worked out well for me. I had the procedure done when I was younger and it worked wonders for me.
