Only your doctor can help you make the decision that is right and safe for you.
The main things that would lead a doctor to recommend removing your tonsils are:
1. recurrent tonsillitis, not relieved with antibiotics
2. Sever tonsillitis, causing the tonsils to swell and block your ability to breathe
3. if you have been diagnosed with a condition called obstructive sleep apnea, where you stop breathing while you are sleeping, and your tonsils are large enough to worsen (or cause) this condition.

Your tonsils are unlikely to just grow larger, unless they are swollen from infection.

So, if you can breathe fine, and don't have frequent or severe infections, a doctor is unlikely to recommend removal.

Again, only a doctor can help you make the right decision that is safe for you.
Good luck.

When I was little I got tonsillitis and my left tonsil is considerably larger than my right one. I never got it removed, all my doctor said is if I got 5 or more strep throats in 1 year they will have to take them both out. I haven't had a strep throat since.

I had the procedure done when I was younger and it worked wonders for me. Even though you may not notice it, they do restrict quite a bit of breathing.

As soon as I got it done, the biggest difference I noticed is that I no longer got frequent headaches like I did before. Presumably because I was taking in more oxygen. Not only that, I also didn't breathe as heavy.

I'd consult with a doctor about it. Unless they recommend it, there is really no reason to be concerned about it. However, it worked out well for me.

Many people have hypertrophic tonsils. I doubt that that your tonsil size will increase and tonsillectomies aren't performed without a good reason.
