Is it normal to have lots of drainage after tonsil surgery?

I had my tonsils taken out at the beginning of march and I’ve healed completely, but lately I’ve been coughing up a lot of mucus/drainage. Sometimes it’s even a little chunky. (Gross, I know. I’m sorry.) My dad thinks I’m sick, but I don’t feel sick.
Is this normal or should I make an appointment with my doctor?

I’d check with your doctor. When I had my tonsils out, none of that happened. It’s possible there’s some infection going on – it would probably be good to get it looked at.
