How long is tonsil surgery recovery?
I’m 17-years-old and I FINALLY got my tonsils removed on the 15th after having at least 2 sore throats per month since June. How much longer is it going to take for me to get better?
So far my throat feels the same way it did when I got out of the hospital, except on certain hours I can actually speak much more clearer for my mom (she had hers removed too).
Also, how long do you think it would take my mother to recover? She’s 39-years-old and had them removed on the same day.
She seems to be having much more trouble with her recovery than with me, she keeps coughing and it seems like she has a cold or something but I can’t be too sure…

The younger you are when you have this done, the faster you recover. It actually takes more than a week to even begin to feel good but it may take your mother twice that time frame. Keep up with everything you were told to do on your discharge instructions and regular pain medication so that you can continue to get fluids down. If there are any further questions, call your surgeon and ask them your questions.
