How long and how painful is tonsil and adenoid surgery?
I am having my tonsils, adenoids, and sinus surgery on Thursday and I am 28 years old. I have heard the older you are the more painful it is! I also would like to know how long does the surgery usually take? I have a lot of health problems and I am afraid I may not recover as well! I have really really high blood pressure and I think they are going to do the surgery and send me straight home. I am very scared please help!!!

my son just had that done, and it took him about a week to recover. you’ll have morphine for the first day then just a mild painkiller when you go home. you’ll be fine but your voice will sound funny, like you have a grape in your throat or something. good luck elderboots!
This is something that you should discuss with your family doctor. The surgery itself is not that long, maybe 30 minutes. But recovery is long. Especially for adults. Your chances of infection are greatly increased as well as blood clots and uncontrollable bleeding. Is there no alternative to having this done?
Your blood pressure should also be well controlled before any type of surgical procedure.
