I found a couple of websites with tons of info... tonsil stones can also cause bad breath (they are made of sulpher, calcified nasal drip, and bacteria... ewwww), and so one of the sites is dedicated to that aspect of tonsil stones... but all very interesting!

I would at least see an ENT about it, and worst case scenario, if the stones are contributing to a really bad quality of life, you can have your tonsils removed. Just remember- your tonsils are there to catch this kind of debris before it goes farther into your throat!

Good Luck!

What is a tonsil stone? Never heard of it and worked in hopsp for yrs so it must be a term that tells of something that we called something else. If tonsilitis that is an infection of the tonsils and is treated with antibiotics like any other infection. If the infection keeps happening and/or the tonsils are otherwise hurting your health they can be surgcally removed.

Tonsillolitholitis? That's a totally new medical terminology. Congrats! You happen to be the first rare case-study with such a diagnosis. LMAO!

What you need is an EENT Specialist who might even recommend a tonsillectomy. I wouldn't second-guess and try to even figure out what your symptoms might be. It'd be best to get an accurate diagnosis begore any treatment could be rendered. Hope U get well soon.

I have these every once in a while. I try not to mess with my tonsils too much to try to get them out unless I see one.
I use a waterpik.
I haven't had one in a few months though.
If you are concerned about them, or if they are constantly re-appearing, I would get your tonsils removed.

I get the little long, thin, bamboo kebab skewers.
Then I get a flashlight
Then I very, very, carefully pick the damn thing out, and spit it out.
Yeah, I get them maybe once a year or every other year.
You can't really prevent them short of a tonsillectomy
