How do people get tonsil infec….?

So somebody in my class has tonsil infection and now I’m wondering how do people get them? Is it something they eat or what?

Tonsilitis is just like any other infections and you cannot get it from eating something certain. Your tonsils are there to catch germs and infections that enter your body through your mouth such as breathing in air from someone suffering a cold coughing or sneezing in your face. When tonsilitis occurs the tonsils become swollen and painful like a sore throat generally because they are breaking down and unable to stop the bacteria from invading them. But tonsilitis is not rare and once you get it your will keep getting it until the tonsils are removed which is quick and remotly painless
Bacteria in the throat. No it’s nothing that they eat. It’s bacteria that sits in the throat and becomes infected.
