The answers to your questions depend a lot on how old you are. If you are out of elementary school you are going to feel a lot worse than if you are younger. You should need NO shots after the surgery. I never heard of anyone loosing weight after a tonsil removal but you might gain weight when you feel better. You shouldn’t talk right after the surgery because it will hurt. You certainly will miss some school. Have you talked to your doctor about any of this?
Oh god…
Tonsil removal is the easiest and painless operation ever. Maybe 2 or 3. And no, you won’t lose weight except if you stop eating, and yes you will be able to talk, and no you can’t miss out on school except for the day of the surgeon
1. The surgery doesn’t hurt at all because you are put to sleep. The recovery makes your throat semi sore. Sometimes it can be bad others, not so much. I’d give it about a 7.
2. Their are no shots afterward, but there is 1 or 2 before to put you to sleep.
3. You lose a little weight, but not enough to make any difference in your appearance.
4. You won’t want to talk, but you can mumble and few words out. Try using a small white board.
5. You will have to miss 1-2 weeks of school for recovery. If it was a perfect surgery 1 week. If there was some trouble 2 weeks.
But over all in the end you will find that you can breathe and swallow better. You will also get let throat infections. It is a very pleasing surgery.
