Does the infection in your tonsils have to be gone before you have them removed?

I’m supposed to have my tonsils removed but they got infected again proior to surgery…will I have to postpone surgery until the infection is gone?

Your Dr will make that decision. Most likely they will not perform surgery if there is a on going infection, unless it’s a matter of life or death.
Your doctor can answer that. Most likely they will want to wait until the infection is gone before removing them in order to prevent more serious problems.
