HI- Try calling ur Dr. and ask him about the problems you are still having. The antibiotic is definitely a step in the right direction. Are you on liquid pain meds also. It could take up to 6 weeks, as you’ve had so many problems. I am SO SORRY that you are feeling this way. PLEASE call the Dr. about the mucous build up. He should know this, and perhaps give you an anti-histimine to aleviate so of the issues you are having problems with. I guarantee by Christmas you will be feeling better, as it is 3 weeks from today! See what the Doc suggests, and GET WELL SOON!
I had mine taken out when I was six which was about 14 years ago so I’m a little fuzzy on the details, but I do remember it being hard to swallow solid foods for several weeks. It also depends on the persons healing ability, when my mom got hers taken out when she was sixteen she could eat regular foods within a few days. I would say give it another week or so and if it doesn’t get any better go to the doctor.
My sister just had hers out this past summer. It took her 7 weeks to get back to work and another 2 or 3 before she was back to normal! It’s tough on adults!
