My symptoms are: pain or discomfort swallowing, feels like i have a lump in throat when swallowing, tired, pink throat and or tonsils. I have been drinking water and it has helped some but I am stil afraid. Btw, I am under 14 years of age. I have been under some stress lately and I have ot been getting enough sleep *Going to bed at 1:00 am and waking up at 8:00 am. and sometimes i fall asleep after I wake up early till 11-12:00 pm. What happens if I do have tonsillitis? What will the doctors do? Speaking of doctors, if my pain continues tomorrow, I will go to the doctor.

They’re not incredibly sore, but it’s uncomfortable to swallow/eat, and somewhat awkward to breathe. I don’t seem to have any other symptoms.
Most sites say it should go away on its own in 4-10 days, but I’m getting HPV vaccine #2 tomorrow, so I guess I’ll ask the doctor to have a look.
So, do you think it’s tonsillitis…or strep? I’m afraid to sleep…is there any chance they could swell and cut off breathing?! I’m home alone tonight, and therefore terrified of dying! Haha. Help!

I woke up on monday to find my whole body completey covered in a red, itchy rash that has only worsened since. on tuesday i saw a doctor who seemed quite concerned and said it had something to do with the tonsillitis i had a few weeks ago which has now reoccurred causing my left tonsil to swell. he took a swab of my throat and i was given penicillin but there isn’t any improvement. since then i looked up my symptoms online and it seemed as though i have scarlet fever. i live in university dorms which is concerning if i do have scarlet fever because it’s supposedly so contagious. any ideas on what it is i have or what i should do?

I got tonsillitis at the beginning of the year and it wad horrible. I woke up on Monday morning just feeling icky. From then now my symptoms are;
Sour throat
Weak eyes
Blocked nose

Sometimes head ache
Swollen tonsils
Is it possible I have the illness again, if so how long will it take for more symptoms to appear?

I am almost 16 and have had problems with my tonsils for a long while now.
It’s been about a year and 1/2 and it has still not gone away.
I get tonsil stones constantly (I’m always couching them up) One of my tonsils is always inflamed and will sometimes have white dots on it. It used to always be sore, and i used to loose my voice a lot, but these symptoms have mostly gone away (though the soreness will come back sometimes).
They will bleed sometimes (not very much, just a couple drops) and also the back of my throat will some times be discolored, dry, and at times a little itchy?
Is this tonsillitis? If so what can I do to help? I’m already on a strict diet and I don’t know what else to do.
Also, when my mom was young she had a really bad case of tonsillitis and had to get them removed, can it be genetic?

about 4 days ago i randomly got the chills and became very weak. next thing I knew, the very next day i was in the hospital rocking back and forth, with a fever over 100F unable to swallow and passing out every few minutes. My doctor told me i had tonsillitis. She prescribed some penicillin and it took a few days for my mom to actually go out and get it for me. but since that doctors visit, i noticed my symptoms worsening. My tongue is very swollen, to the point i cannot fully close my mouth without biting on my tongue, which now has blisters all along the sides. My cheeks and gums are full of the little white patches i found on my tonsils and the roof of my mouth is coated with them, making it impossible to ingest anything. Whats really weird is even though i keep gargling with hot water and salt 2 times a day it seems to have now spread to my lips. my bottom lip is swollen and puffy, there are giant whit blisters on them about the size of my middle fingernail. I`ve thought about going back to the doctor but im afraid i will just waste my time. How long does this usually last anyways?
Edit: I am 18 years old for those who are wondering. and now when i look in the mirror i notice my gums start bleeding spontaniously with a very mucus-like blood. the sores on my lips are bleeding the same way and now it is startign to look like a fungus growing on my lips

I am a 22 year old male who is currently suffering the 8th bout of viral tonsillitis in the last 2.5 years. every time the symptoms are identical, 102-103 fever, moderately painful tonsils for about a week. every time i’ve been to the doctor they do a strep and a mono test which always come back negative.
i have taken an open approach to this matter, always following any new lead that might explain why i am so prone to these infections, especially since they are the only sickness i ever contract. i have discussed the possibility of a compromised immune system, and structural abnormalities of my eustachian tubes and my sinuses with my doctors, but i did not have any of the indications of such.
i have also asked my doctor about getting my tonsils removed and he said it wouldn’t improve the situation much. how could this be possible?
If i got sick like this maybe once a year i could understand the chance involved, but without fail, every 2 to 3 months i’m sick again. i am starting to get very impatient. i spend at least a month of every year sick. it has affected my grades in school, and cost me job opportunities and work hours.
as far as removal options, i heard that the traditional has a long and painful healing time and i am double majoring in two thought-intensive subjects(chem and physics) and i can’t afford to be drugged up on painkillers. i’ve heard of the coblation and electro cautery techniques of which the electrocautery was reported to be less painful. I am located in central NJ so it would be appreciated to know any dr that offers these techniques in my area
Please let me know what you think. All suggestions are appreciated!

I am 20 years old. I’ve always had irregular periods, and for the past year or so I kept getting Urinary Tract Infections and Kidney infections. I had a water sample taken and it showed white cells in my urine which my doctor said was abnormal. I am now being tested for PCOS and have recently had Tonsillitis which I now have a sore throat, hoarse voice and a few fever symptoms….
What’s going on with my body?

I’ve been getting an itchy throat at really weird intervals for months now, not necessarily after eating something and so I get a really big urge to just claw my throat out because it’s so itchy, and sometimes my inner ears become itchy too. I haven’t gone to the doctor yet though because it’s not consistent.
However, as a result of the itchiness, I end up scratching my throat with my tongue (if you get what I mean) and my throat gets really sore.
But last night I started to get a constantly runny nose that still won’t stop, and my nose has been getting really sore as a result of the constant nose blowing and I’ve noticed I’ve got this raised white spot on my right tonsil which I know is a symptom of tonsillitis.
So my questions are: do these spots always spread? if so, how long does it take for that to happen?
I’ve got a Spanish ‘A-Level’ oral exam mock on Friday that I’d rather not miss, and right now I’m feeling pretty awful so I want to know if there’s anything I shouldn’t be doing so that my throat gets better. Or do I just go see the doctor, even if it’s only 1 white spot on one of my tonsils?
Thanks in advance
Allied Hero x3 – I’ve not had the white spot on my tonsil for months, it wasn’t there a couple of days ago. However, I’ve been having the period itchy throat as mentioned above for months.
