My boyfriend recently had tonsillitis and now someone at work has the same symptoms. I don’t have my tonsils anymore (got them out when I was 5) but I’m wondering if it’s possible I passed it on to her.

I am 16 years old male and have had swollen tonsils and lymph nodes since January. No other symptoms. Bumpy tonsils and not so big lymph nodes but enough to know they are swollen. Ive been asking yahoo answers before if it’s HIV or Cancer. Most of my responses were tonsillitis but I’ve had this going on for 7 months? What can it be please help me out I’m young and scared and need help with the real deal.

I thought I was coming down with a cold, but now I wonder if it’s tonsillitis. I’ve got a small white spot on one tonsil. It’s weird because my neck hurts too. I haven’t had tonsillitis since I was 5. :O so I’m wondering if there’s any way I can get rid of it at home? I try not to go to the doctor unless I absolutely need to.

My symptoms:
-white patch on tonsil
-Low fever (99.5)
-Body Aches
-Neck stiffness
-Phlegm in throat (could just be sinus drainage.)
-My head kind of hurts.

I have recently been ill with tonsillitis which was really bad, however when going to the doctors I had other symptoms not to do with tonsillitis and she was asking me about college and work and said that I had to much pressure on myself and was wearing myself out. Which is making me ill more it impossible to lighten the load from college, and I never get the chance to really go out and enjoy myself what other ways can I stop being stressed and worn out because I hate being ill all the time.

This summer i’ve just kept getting sick over and over again. First I had diarrhoea, then a bladder infection, then tonsillitis with fever last week and some diarrhoea as well and now after taking a full course of antibiotics (Zinnat) which ended last Sunday, I have a fever again (100.3F) Do you think it’s something to worry about, like leukaemia?? I noticed some of its symptoms matched mine =/ ?

I woke up today with a terribly sore throat. I have symptoms of Tonsillitis, had it before YEARS ago though. What can I take for Tonsillitis?

Hey, Um. I’ve been sick since Wednesday, the 15th. I went to the doctors on the 16th because my fever was 103.1. (but I always get very high fevers when I’m sick.) Anyway, my throat was giving me a lot of trouble and I couldn’t swallow. The doctor didn’t swab my throat or anything – he just gave it a quick look and said "I’m just going to treat her for strep throat." and he gave me some Zythromax (or some shit) and I was on my way.
Now I know that an illness like this can stay with you for a week even after all the medicine is taken, but nothing has gotten better… I can eat now, but only small portions. Waking up in the morning is terrible. It hurts to cough very badly. I coughed up blood this morning and it was excruciatingly painful. My mother thinks it’s Tonsillitis. Here are symptoms of both Strep and Tonsillitis;

Strep Throat Symptoms: * Throat pain * Difficulty swallowing * Red and swollen tonsils, sometimes with white patches or streaks of pus * Tiny red spots on the soft or hard palate – the area at the back of the roof of the mouth * Swollen, tender lymph glands (nodes) in the back of your throat * Fever * Headache

Tonsillitis Symptoms: * Sore throat * Difficult or painful swallowing * Headache * Fever and chills * Enlarged, tender glands (lymph nodes) in the jaw and neck * Loss of voice * Red, swollen tonsils * White patches on the tonsils

I’ve had throat pain, Difficulty swallowing, Red and swollen tonsils, some white patches, a few tiny red spots on the back of the roof of my mouth, Swollen, tender lymph glands (nodes) in the back of my throat, bad Fevers and a few Headaches from here or there. Sore throat I’ve revently been having some chills and my glands are very swollen and large…My voice is slowly going it feels but I can still talk if I need to (it just hurts to)

I just want to know if I actually have strep or not. This pain is kind of insane and it’s the beginning of summer:( I have a lot to do (IMPORTANT stuff) and I can’t do any of it when I’m this sick. I want to get better as soon as possible, so please help and tell me how I can get better even quicker! Thank you so much for reading:)

I have had this for around 3 years and continue to get the symptoms which are as follows:
1) I bleed around 4 times a week from my nose…….around 6-7 drops of blood and sometimes upto 15.
2) I have constant blockage of atleast one nostril and sometimes both, compelling me to breathe frm mouth
3) My eyes are nearly always misty.
4) I blow cough around once an hour and the color depends frm yellow to white to transparent..
I have consulted a few allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic docs and none of them did not had any solution. One of the docs suggested that due to chronic tonsillitis, i have developed Di Nasal Septum or DNS. Please give some good tips or solution to cope up with this annoying condition
Thank you mona and raju but I m trying not to opearate my tonsils since they are one of the best defences of our body. And Raju i m not a girl.

I’ve got all of the symptoms of tonsillitis. After doing some research, I discovered that tonsillitis may or may not be caused by strep throat. I have had no symptoms of strep throat except for a sore throat. I haven’t had A fever or any vomiting at all. I really want to avoid going to the doctor and getting my throat swabbed because I hate that more than anything in this world. What do you think?

I have bacterial infection. it is called Tonsillitis. it has been a couple of days now, since i have been infected. i went to a Doctor, and the Dr. explained to me what the causes, and the symptoms are..then,he prescribed me antibiotic(clarithromycin 500mg,generic for Biaxin 500mg) to treat the infection, mortin and vicodin for the pain,and prednisone10mg to stop the swelling.Now, it is getting better with the help of God. My question is, i went on line and goggled about this disgusting infection,the first thing that pops up was,"tonsillitis is one of the symptom of HIV".well,i had never been seriously sick in my life,i am also a health freak, and i had never done unprotected sexual intercourse.so, i started to panic..i also goggled about the antibiotic my Dr. prescribed me,and the first one i clicked on says," this medication is commonly used by HIV and Aids patients." i do not have any kinds of symptom HIV infected person has. Please help educating me more about it.
