yesterday i didnt have tonsillitis or any symptoms of it attal. then last night i got punched in the nose and woke up realising my tonsils were swolling:S

im a 16 year old boy. ive had a pain in my throat, since saturday morning. Whenever i swallow its quite painful and whenever i yawn its agony so i have to yawn quickly :L i looked in the back of my mouth and one of my tonsils is big, but im not sure what it was like before so that may be a bit irrelevant. Also the back of my mouth at the sides is slightly yellow – but again im not sure if it was like that before :L im pretty sure its tonsillitis because the symptoms seem quite similar. However i haven’t had it diagnosed by anyone, or even told my parents because i just haven’t got round to it. i didnt actually have a cold or any other illness before hand so im not sure what type of tonsillitis it is? I looked online and apparently tonsillitis is contagious and so i was wondering should i go to school tomorrow? In terms of pain, my throat throbs occasionally, but my tonsils only hurt when i yawn or swallow, so i would be able to bear it. However i was wondering whether the school or students/ parents would be okay with me having tonsillitis, because its contagious???
and i feel sick slightly :L

ive had tonsillitis from thursday, it has gotten worse so i went to the doctors on saturday where he gave me antibiotics. this is my third day of taking them and they haven’t really helped yet, my tonsils are still swollen. this morning i woke up and my lips were all cracked with dry blood does this not mean its spreading? i really want to be healthy. im 16. if anyone could help i’d really really appreciate it or even some remedies to get rid of the pain :/

I was diagnosed with glandular fever a week ago and already had had it for a week…two days ago the swollen tonsils with white dots started to appear…I have lectures starting in just over a week with no option but to go (it’ll be a 2hour day every day)

A couple of days ago I saw my boyfriend, and at that time I had a slight fever. We did kiss a fair bit. The fever got progessively worse and other symptoms began to show so I saw my doctor and she confirmed that I have tonsillitis.

Is it likely that I gave my boyfriend tonsillitis? How can he prevent the symptoms from showing up, and how long is it usually contagious for?

Okay I have been sick for past 4 days.
-i do not have fever
-mild body ache as of now
-sore throat
-kills to swallow
-feels like there is f*****n balls that are in my throat
-for last 3 days i took ibuprofen for body ache
-i took some cough syrups as well but i feel like my throat is fine
-sometimes it just hurts
-i cant clearly see my tonsils, i see one cant tell if it has some white covering.
-been there since last night, waiting for my mom to take to to a doctor as soon as she comes back from work
-i know that an actual doctor is the one who can diagnose this but are these symptoms similar to tonsillitis.

Does anyone in the medical community know why I would get chronic tonsillitis (over 3 years, probably close to 15 times to the hospital). The infection is almost always bacterial. I do have GERD (just discovered) that is eroding my throat, and i have a endoscopy and colonoscopy this week because a barium swallow showed a bleeding ulcer, and also have had intestinal bleeding. I have severe head aches all the time and have a sensitivity to gluten (celiac always comes back negative). I ended up in the hospital again this weekend because I couldn’t swallow at all and all my glands,lymph nodes were huge. they gave me iv fluids and antibiotics (and when they gave me morphine I felt a sudden burning feeling in the glands in my neck and behind my jaw, i thought that part of my head was on fire). I also have a really hard time losing weight. Even when I’m super healthy, I have never dropped a pound, only turn it into muscle-I’ve tried everything!

THe doctors don’t seem to know whats going on, each specialist thinks its something different…I’m wondering if there is something that links everything or a lot the symptoms?
