I have had it twice before, a few years ago and I got antibiotics from the doctor.
I can’t find a torch to look inside my mouth, so I can’t see if my tonsils have puss on them.
When I swallow it feels like a bruise where my left tonsil is. It feels like that when I talk, too. Is that what it feels like? I’ve forgotten what it felt like last time lol. I’ve had it on and off the last 3 days.
It nearly kills me to twist my tongue to the left.

Are these symptoms of tonsillitis? Is it necessary to see a doctor to get antibiotics? Can I get better without antibiotics?

Im pretty positive that I have tonsillitis. Im 19 and admittedly, sometimes there are nights when I dont brush my teeth. Its gross I know, but I just get home and Im so tired! Ive had symptoms for the past six months. I have awful breath and a terrible taste i
n my mouth. My spit is so foul smelling
I also get these little white things that come into my mouth and they are so nasty!! They smell terrible!! They come up at the most awkward times… However, they mostly appear in the morning. This is so gross and the smell makes me sick to my stomach. I know I have to go to the doctor for diagnosis but Ive been told that there isnt one except for to take better care of my oral hygiene. Also, I have been told that I could gargle with salt water.
Looking in the mirror, I cannot see anything on my tonsils but I know they are there. I can feel them and they hurt when I swallow!

Help!
Should I go to the doctor? Will I need Surgery.
I would love any advice!!

I Got Tonsillitis and The Pain Is Unbearable, I Can’t Eat, Drink Or Just Swallow Generally Because It Hurts To Much.

I Am Having Paracetamol And Strepsils Every 2-3 Hours And It’s Not Making It Any better!
I Have Had It Since Saturday And It’s Now Monday And It Usually Only Lasts For 48 Hours!
My Symptoms: Swollen Tonsils, Belly Ache, Ear Ache, Sore throat.
I Also Got A Fever, i am Boiling Hot Then Freezing Cold, Then Boiling Hot Again!

I checked online and my symptoms match exactly with what it is. I can’t make an appointment though until tomorrow. Does anyone know how I can reduce the pain.

Also, how do I reduce my chills because of fever without medicine. I already took 8 pills in 12 hours and the Tylenol box says you should not take more than 8 pills per 24 hours because the patient may get liver damage.

I know this sounds wierd for a 13 year old girl to say, but i dont want to miss a day of school. I think i have tonsillitis, ive had it before and ive had it since friday and i went to school and i was fine. But the thing that is getting me down is my cough. i cough like every 3 mins!! Its a dry tickly cough and ive had it since yesterday! I dont want to miss school lol. I have a bit of heyfever but it could be a cold. Could anyone help me relieve my symptoms?

Symptoms: – Sore Throat (Hard to swallow)
– Headache
– Tiredness
– Hardly slept last night

I’ve researched Tonsillitis, but to be honest, I think I could be a bit of a hypochondriac, as last night I thought I had swine flu… until this morning I saw a post on a website about Tonsillitis.

So could anyone tell me what it sounds like it could be ? Whether it could be Tonsillitis or Swine flu, or even a cold (although i’ve never felt this bad when having a cold).

I have had tonsillitis for 2 days and the pain is extremely severe. Went to the doc today and the strep test was negative but he gave me antibiotics anyways (Augmentin).

They hurt soooo bad and I am really tired and have swollen glads. Those are my only symptoms.

Do you think it is bacterial or viral? can the viral kind still cause those white patches?

What are the white patches? excretions? bacterial colonies?
Oh and I would have asked all of this of the doc, i tried. But his accent was thick, it was urgent care and he was just hurrying me out of there so I feel kind of pushed away with no answers.

I have had these symptoms since sunday the 10th Jan and they seem to be getting worse!
My symptoms are:
*Pain when swallowing, even just saliva – as though somethings blocking my throat
*Neck and Ears are tender
*Headache
*Tiredness
*Runny/Blocked Nose
*Bad Breath, no matter how many times i clean my teeth and use mouthwash.
*Cough

What’s the likely hood i have tonsillitis?
Also, what can i do to get rid of whatever i have?

About a month ago, I began to feel very tired…instead of getting sleepy at 11pm I would get sleepy around 8pm. I went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics because he suspected I had a strep throat even though it came back negative. A nurse told me to stop the antibiotics and my tonsils and lymph nodes were swollen and had white spots on them. At the moment I do not feel tired, I never had a fever in the course of this one month. The nurse suspects I have mono because I have an enlarged spleen but I also read you can get an enlarged spleen if you have tonsillitis.I had a complete blood count done as well and she could tell right away it was a viral infection. I am getting my mono test back tomorrow..hopefully its negative!
Symptoms:
swollen lymph nodes
enlarged tonsils
small cough
enlarged spleen

but no fever, rash, fatigue etc..(which I have read is a major symptom of Mono)

But do I have to have a fever or fatigue to have Mono? I did a blood count and the number of white blood cells was lower than it should have been on average (like 3.9 when it should have been between 4.2-10 i’m not sure about the units) but she said it definitely shows something viral. If it was bacterial antibiotics would work, which they haven’t so…I have just heard a lot of stories where people talk about how bad the fatigue is…and I’m 60-70% sure that if I had mono now I would be in my bed sleeping.
