Tonsil Surgery Archives

I need my tonsils out (they keep getting infected and I won’t lose this cold until they’re out). If I start on an insurance plan this month, how long would it be until I could have the surgery and it would be almost completely covered?

Tonsil surgery food help?

Ok I just had my surgery on Thursday so this is my 3rd day I had Mac and cheese today and some ice cream and lots of water but I am just wondering when I can eat stuff like hard cereal and chips and stuff like that I just had my tonsils removed nothing else.

Your Question
Is tonsil and adenoid surgery together the right thing to do?
My son is 5 yrs old and had problems with extremely enlarged tonsils and adenoids.
The tonsils have come for the first time in his entire 5 yrs but the the adenoid problem persists from last two years. He snores during sleep and has a hard time breathing at night sometimes. He also has a problem with choking. The pediatric ENT Advised us today go for the surgery to remove both adenoids and tonsils. Is it better just to get it done together or just go for adenoid surgery right now ? Please advise us.

Oh I’m 28 if that matters, so no parent permision here. Probably insurence and physicals I’m guessing will be the hold up. I just want to get it over with. I wish they’d take me the next day!

Why do I need a blood test before surgery?

I’m getting my tonsils out in about two months. I had blood drawn after the surgery was scheduled. I’m not sure why I need blood drawn because I’ve had blood drawn before.

Should I get my tonsils removed a week before Thanksgiving? I want to eat yummy food but will i be able to? will that give my tonsils enough time to heal? Or should I reschedule after Thanksgiving.
Thank you so much:) and any advice for a tonsil surgery as well?

1. He got "worn out" in summer (at age 19? LeBron didn’t wear out. Dwight Howard didn’t. Not even Yao Ming who was a lot bigger than Oden will ever be)

2. He backed out of summer league because of tonsil surgery (lame lame execuse)

3. He acknowledged growing up being a big Celtics fan? (Hello, do a lot of kids watch vintage tapes growing up? The Celtic have sucked since the 90s, and Greg Oden was born in 1988?)

4. His knee is messed up, adding to a long list of injuries (I guess his age is catching up with him)

5. He looks old (no need to elaborate)

6. He has an old man’s body (no need to elaborate that, either)

So here are my evidences… I am not even sure if Oden’s mom is his mom or wife now.

Why do you need to have surgery for tonsils?
