Those little tonsil stones at the back of my throat disgust and annoy me, and I am wondering if I asked my doctor to get my tonsils removed whether he would let me or not. I know the recovery after surgery is supposed to be extremely painful but I think its worth it if I never have to experience tonsil stones again. So will my doctor let me get them removed? And has anyone here every experienced a tonsillectomy? Is it worth it? Thanks

I had a surgery on my tonsils and they have been removed, now after many years, I feel dryness in my gorge and it make my tired in speaking particularly in the dry weather and I feel chock in my sound cords, is it right which I described, or this surgery hasn’t any influences like that? If ok, then how can I improve this problem?

Okay so i might be going through 2 surgeries…a nose surgery and the removing of my tonsils…I’m kinda scared…yet not too much. Can you guys give me a little info about what it might be like and what are the good sides to these prodedgeres please? I heard the removing of tonsils helps or may alter your voice. And if im getting surgery for example a deviated spectrum or something like that will it make my nose smaller? THANK YOU!
BTW: Will theese hurt? And wich one will probobly hurt the most?

I’m just curious…
I know very little about the procedure, and I was just wondering a few things about it.
1) Do they stitch a child’s throat closed (at the area of removal) afterwards?
2) I’ve heard something about "burning" the throat? What is that and what does it do?
3) Are things like coughing and sneezing dangerous? Could they "tear" the tissue that was operated on?
The thing is…I’ve heard so many different things about it and I just want to know what the truth of the matter is…medically. Not what everyone thinks might happen. All of these "opinions" are killing me…and her doctor is one of those that they ask you to contact in case of an emergency only. *sigh* Help please!

Hi. I just had tonsil surgery and I have to eat soft foods for the next week. I have been eating smoothies and popsicles for the last few days, and I am sick of them. Any soft foods/ recipes you can recommend? (Besides ice cream, smoothies, popcicles, apple sauce, and jello) Thank You for your help!

What is wrong with my soft palette and tongue?
I had my tonsils taken out on Dec 18th and I’m 31 years old, on the 9th day of recovery I got sick with something my husband had, and went to the dr. he gave me a zpak, well I started getting better, then all the sudden I’m back to being sick again with a swollen soft pallette (it even has a red swollen x shape up there),and swollen tongue. My throat also hurts, I don’t have a fever or anything, but am baffled? I am now allergic to a lot of foods, when I eat broccli or carrots my throat starts itching and my stomach hurts so I have to take benadryl and then fall asleep. Did I make a mistake letting them take my tonsils out, will I ever recover. I don’t have a clue what’s wrong with me. Please give me any suggestions. Although I have no fever or anything, my throat feels like it is stuck together when I wake up in the morning. Also no swollen glands that I know of.

I’m 17-years-old and I FINALLY got my tonsils removed on the 15th after having at least 2 sore throats per month since June. How much longer is it going to take for me to get better?
So far my throat feels the same way it did when I got out of the hospital, except on certain hours I can actually speak much more clearer for my mom (she had hers removed too).
Also, how long do you think it would take my mother to recover? She’s 39-years-old and had them removed on the same day.
She seems to be having much more trouble with her recovery than with me, she keeps coughing and it seems like she has a cold or something but I can’t be too sure…
