Tonsil Removal Archives

I am 23; the doctor I last saw suggested that at my age I would be at high risk for bleeding, so they would not recommend it.

I have always had big tonsils, and never thought much of it.

Over the past years I have put on weight, a lot of weight; I am currently 322 6"2′.

I had tonsillitis a few weeks ago…and I think I have it again.

My girlfriend tells me I am a heavy snorer.

Needless to say it has been harder to breath as of lately.

With this pace I would fit the recommendation for getting them removed: 3 cases of tonsillitis a year….I might even fit that requirement in a matter of months.

My tonsils are literally touching my uvula; I never pay much attention, but I am pretty sure they are close to my uvula even when not swollen.

I used to play football in high school, so I would run and lift a lot; out of curiosity I wonder if anyone would know if getting your tonsils removed will make you more athletic.

it stands to reason, if you breath more you can run longer and faster; Also breathing more would mean more oxygen for you muscles.

I doubt I will shave a few minutes off my mile time or add 50 lbs to my bench press immediately after getting them removed, but it stands to reason that it would improve them at least over time.

It should be mentioned, that I am unemployed, have no health insurance, and no disposable income; tonsil removal averages 00; does anyone know where I could get it free?

I would appreciate health care officials to answer these questions, or at least someone going through the same thing.

Is removal of tonsils a must for sleep apnea?

My kid has a mild sleep apnea that is 5 episodes that lasts about 10 second in the hour on average. The ENT specialist is recommending a surgery to remove tonsils. My question : Is this absolutely required given it is a mind case(as I have been told)? Any side effect/longterm effect if I don’t get this done? Will this surgery absolutey cure the sleep apnea?

Is risk of CJD generally huge?

Should I generally worry about getting CJD?

My country doesn’t have registered "mad cow" cases (only a couple of sporadic CJD cases, and 1 genetic as far as I know) as far as I know, I generally consume a lot of meat, I eat beef too, like everyone else. I had a tonsil removal in 1995, and that’s the only operation I had. I don’t count dentist sessions.

Am I at risk of CJD?

embarrassing problem with tonsil stones?

i’ve done research about them and i know the basic things about those little monsters, but i have a bit of a problem with their removal.
i really don’t want to remove them by operation..i’m really scared.
i have tried with the finger thing,or brushing my throat with mouth brush, but it only got things worse..
i went little deeper and while dealing with the tonsil’s sensitive part i started bleeding.
it stooped, and I still don’t know what to do.
I don’t get wanna get myself hurt and i wanna remove them if it’s possible without causing the vomit reflex and operation.
i’ve never had any problems with them except this..
if you have any experience and suggestions, i would appreciate if you could answer.

Would removal of tonsils be effective at turning RA around ?

Removing your tonsils?

So, I was wondering, would tonsil removal be okay for me, even though I have no congestion or sinus problems at all? The reason why I would like tonsil removal is because I just think it will make my throat more clear and help my voice sound clearer and help me breath better, because I sing.

Do you think that this would be good for me?
