I’ve been working on a science project, and I was trying to learn about the removal of tonsils. I do know what purpose they serve, and how they work. But I DO NOT know how your immune system or mouth (germs entering the body) are effected when the tonsils are removed, because I would think that germs could get in your body effortlessly after your tonsils are removed.

Anyways, if you could share some links with me to back up your knowledge of how germs get trapped, or what happenes to your defence system in your mouth once your tonsils are removed, that would be great!

And, I know. Google might be an answer you would say. But, I have looked for quite a while on Google, and nothing is referring to how your mouth and immune system work after the removal of tonsils.

ive had 4 really sore throats,(im pretty sure theywere strep)but now i thnk i have tonsilitous(or however you spell it…) do think they will take my tonsils out?! iim scared. :/

Hey, I’m Kenzi, I’m 13. And I’ve loved God my whole life.

But; I’m losing my hearing, when you clean out my ears with q-tips my hearing feels horrid, like I’m just 2 notches to being death. I’ve prayed, and prayed, and even cried, that I could be able to hear. But, God’s not letting me, obviously. Now I’m sitting here, wipping my tears, and still can’t hear good, really badly.

Just a few days ago I healed from my Tonsil and Adnoid removal surgery. Let me tell you, that was horrible. Now I cannot hear, and it’s like ugh. I mean, it hurts, when I cough, sneeze, yawn, etc, and I really cannot here hear now, so Merry Christmas.

I’m pretty lucky I’m not deaf, yet…blind, and etc. But I think I’ll be disabled soon enough

Is God testing my faith? I’m starting to scream at him, say he’s not real, etc.
I feel like he’s just a lie. Which I know he’s not. But it seems like it right now.

and then there is a histerectome and then you get an appendectome and the famouse vasectome and finally a lady going for a sex change its called bringadicktome

Anyone who had cryptic tonsils? I am talking about the ones that create the bacteria (tonsiliths/tonsil stones, what ever you want to call it). these terrible things smell like death themselves, and kill the breath. I always have sore throats, but not bothersome. I was told a tonsillectomy is the end all cure. I had the procedure done on 4-16-08, the doctor said that it should rid the problem for good. I would like to hear success stories with those who used a tonsillectomy for this very problem. I had the electrocaudery method, so its has very little chance for tonsil re-growth. if removal will stop me from being sick all the time, then is worth it. For those who can relate to my problem, did a tonsillectomy cure the death breath? Is having a tonsillectomy the permanent answer to the solution to problem? For those don’t know about tonsils stones. its the job of the tonsil’s collect all the bad junk. If cryptic or chronically ill they don’t do their job properly. Thanks

Ok so I have been running most of the summer getting ready for cross country and I honestly feel like I have never been in better shape in my life I have never done cross country before but i am a mid distance guy in track mid distance and distance practice together so I have slot of milage but I’m have been running 6 miles day and while doing speed work interval runs tempo run and all tht I mix it all up I also have 1 day were I run 10 miles… Ok just back round now the the problem is tht I have surgery this Friday nothin major tonsil removal but it takes 2 weeks to not have pain but I will be able to do my normal activities after a week so I wondering will taking a week off put all my hard work down in the drains? will I love my fitness most of it? Just a little loss of fitness? Or none at all? And it wld nice if I wkd do good from my workouts? Thnx

I’m in my twenties and I had my tonsils out 2 months ago now. i was in serious pain for about 3 weeks and now every morning i wake up with an extremely dry throat

also i have a constant dull ache in my throat and ears which i similar to the lighter symptoms i had before the removal

anyone else had this? did it go away or should i chat with my doc?

I am having lots of pain from my wisdom teeth coming in and I think I am going to need to get them removed I’m really worried about it because I had my tonsils out about a year and a half ago and it was horrible and took forever to heal. the pain was unbearable. The vicodin only controlled the pain for about an hour before it wore off, I lost 13 pounds in 9 days because I couldn’t eat, and it took me nearly 3 weeks to be able to leave the house. And I was so weak for the longest time from the rapid unhealthy weight loss So I’m hoping that wisdom teeth aren’t as bad
