I had my tonsils removed on Tuesday and wanting to know if the lozenges are on a okay list to use for pain/discomfort.

i’m planning on quitting a week before the surgery and i just wanted to know if that would be ok . but with my surgery i’m not getting only local anesthesia i’m getting knocked out because of my circumstances .

I am a 27 yr old female and my doctor has stated he think i may wish to have my tonsils taken out due to 5 throat infections this year. I really DO NOT want to have them removed, i am very wary of surgery unless it is to save a life and i know the recovery is pretty bad for adults.
Is there anything i can do to help keep my tonsils healthy and bacteria free?

I had my tonsils removed yesterday and now when I try to drink water, it comes out of my nose and my voice has turned to an extremely whiny, nasally sound. How long can this last and can it be permanent?

I am 22 years old and I am considering having my tonsils removed because I get tonsil stones….I am so paranoid that my breath might smell so I am constintely chewing gum. However, I am terrified about getting the surgery because of the recovery…Any experience or advice will be greatly appreciated…Also does my age cause any risks?

I usually get a cold once a month. and i have huge tonsils that always swell up when im sick and they seem to be the start of my sickness with sore throat and huge swollen lymph nodes where my tonsils are in your neck…im planning a visit to an ent doc to get them checked out and removed. my mom said when she was young hers were removed an she didnt get sick nearly as often as she had before….
anyone else have their tonsil removed and notice they were sick less often?? im 20 years old and im afriad it will hurt…any tips??
