Question about tonsils and adenoids?

I am 16 and have always had large tonsils. I know have been suffering from chronic sinusitis for about 6 months and nothing will cure it. I am going to a ENT tomorrow and was wondering, what are the chances he will suggest removal of the tonsils and adenoids. I have difficulty swallowing and I must clear my throat a lot because of my tonsils. My tonsils also scrape the back of my throat a lot. I cannot turn my head to the right because the gland is swollen and hurts when I do. I would like him to take out my tonsils and adenoids because they cause me so many problems but will he take my request seriously? I’m scared he’ll just shoot me down and think I’m being ridiculous.
I also breath loudly and have all my life. My doctor always says I have large tonsils, all doctors and nurses do when I get a throat culture but she has never mentioned a tonsillectomy. After taking a bout 7 antibiotics she referred me to ENT. I had a sinus infection last january that I was put on allergy meds for that don’t help so I’m suspecting I’ve had sinus problems since last year.

My 11 year old son has had sore tonsils for the last five months. There are no obvious signs of infection, however his tonsils are sore, enlarged and red. Blood tests have shown that it is not bacterial however he always responds well to antibiotics and begins to feel better 24 hours after he commences antibiotics. After he has finished taking antibiotics he has a few good days then he gradually goes down hill again. Within a week and a half we are back at the doctor, he is put back on antibiotics and after a day he feels better again. The question is do we remove his tonsils if it is viral tonsillitis??? 7 years ago, when he was 4 years old, we took him to an ENT surgeon, the surgeon was keen to remove his tonsils. Now that he is 11 years old and we went back to see the same ENT surgeon, the surgeon has changed his tune and has now become conservative and reluctant to remove them, he stated to us that "If it is viral tonsillitis then there is no point taking out the tonsils at all" It would seem to me ENT surgeons have changed their tunes regarding the removal of tonsils over the years, I wonder why?????? Does anyone have any suggestionsns on what I should do for my son, I’m wondering if his tonsils are making him sicker somehow. His symptomsover the last 5-6 months have been:
- Sore, red and enlarged tonsils,
- some ear pain and pressure,
- Headaches,
- Occassional fever
- Sore sinuses, only when pressure is applied,
- Red, rashy cheeks
- Lethargy,
- Balance problems, he feels like he is going to fall when he is running,
- He has a raised ESR
He responds well to antibiotics in 24 hours even though blood test results don’t indicate a bacterial infection. Two blood tests over a period of a month eliminated glandular fever.
I look forward to your suggestions.

Who does Phil have a cause aganinst.?

Phil underwent minor surgery for the removal of his tonsils. Serious complications developed when he was administered penicillin, to which he was allergic. the doctor denied responsibility because he did not know about he allergy.

Does this seem that Phil has a cause of action against the doctor or the hospital? Was Phil partly responsible for failing to voluntarily to thell the doctor of his allergy?

Tonsil removal question. ?

So this is kind of personal but my boyfriend recently shared with me that he may be having his tonsils removed (we are both 17) and he said that he has heard that having them removed at this age is extremely dangerous. I’ve never heard of this but just hearing that makes me worry a bit. So i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is true or not to help? Also, i’ve had my tonsils removed when i was 7 and was fine. Just wanting some reassurance.

Am i going to be in big trouble?

16, and going in for a surgery soon, for tonsil removal, the doctor wants to take a blood and urine test on monday.
i smoke a lot, and i know it wont be out of my system before then,
can they tell i have been smoking?
can they tell my parents?

also, if you tell me dont smoke or its bad for you, i am fully aware thank you, can you please just answer my questions?
should i get someone else’s pee?

Tonsils and adnoids?

can anyone give me personal stories about tonsils and adnoid removal? my daughter is having hers out tomorrow and she’s 5. any suggestions on making her feel nice afterward?

so a while ago, i had oral sex with a guy and my throat soon started to swell. after the oral sex, we were eating and he has cats, which i’m allergic to so i thought that maybe cat dander got in my food. so anyway, i went to the emergency room because idk how severe it was going to be. They put me on I.V. benadryl. for the next few days, the swelling got smaller and eventually went away.

the second oral sex experience, we weren’t by his cats, but then my throat got swollen again. This made me rethink that i might have been allergic to his semen. Since I.V. benadryl made it go away, i just took over the counter benadryl but it never went away. eventually, my throat started hurting so bad that i couldn’t swallow anything. I went to the allergy doctor and he said that my tonsils were swollen.

He then gave me Prednisone, which is kind of like the same thing as Cortazone. Anyway, that made my throat stop hurting and burning, but it didn’t make the swelling go all the way away. The first day it did, but it came back at night. I’m supposed to take the medicine for 5 days, its now the 3rd day, and it doesn’t even have an effect on the swelling anymore.

Is there a way to make the swelling go away completely? i’m slightly paranoid now. Its been over 2 months and it hasn’t gone away! Will the removal of my tonsil make it any better?
also, i haven’t had any contact to his semen since. so its not like i come in contact with it and then my throat swells again. Its been swollen for 2 months now just from that last exposure.
