If I am having surgery Friday at 10:30am, is it wise to take the Army PT test the day prior? Just curious, the surgery is pretty serious, 5-6 hour operation involving my deviated septum, removal of my tonsils, adnoids in my throat and nose, and removal of 15% from the base of my tongue and the back of my throat. If anyone has any insight on this and can shed some light on it as soon as possible it is appreciated.

Hint: Nearly everyone has had this procedure done… some have it done monthly, or even weekly.

i don’t even know what is is, its a small shaped tiny residue, i removed it from my right tonsils with a tweezer (easily removes) and 2 weeks later or so, another one is formed.. does anyone know what it is..its weird, i’ve never had any throat problems and i don’t feel any pain whatsoever, but this solid residue thingy keeps replacing itself few weeks after removal…any suggestions? has anyone had this before? thanks

My ENT surgeon has prescribed me to get this surgery done. But i’m curious about some things.
1. Is this a minor or a major surgery?
2. What are the detriments i’ll face if i didnt get this done?
3. How many hours/minutes will it take?
4. How are you supposed to eat after the surgery? Will they give me only liquid food? If so,for how long?
5. How long will the pain last?
6. How many days to go until i fully recover?
Thanks in advance..

Oh there’s another question I forgot to ask? That is,
7. How does it affect your voice & speaking ability? Will they ask me not to speak for a certain period? Oh will it hurt when i speak after the surgery?

I am 16 and I got my tonsils out almost a week ago, and I keep having an itchy feeling at the back of my throat, I also have this really thick saliva it is clear but it has the consistency of syrup, I occasionally cough up some mucus and sometimes it has this orange/red stuff mixed in with it along with sometimes a chunk of something red… I know these are several questions but I hop you are able to help with any of them if they are related or not.

I’m very sensitive to pain meds (narcotics), I usually end up taking 800 mg motrin due to vomiting but surgeon says that won’t be enough. I’ve had 5 surgery’s in the last 8 yrs. (tubal, tonsil removal, hernia repair, gallbladder out, and lump removed from breast,) and every time I get really sick, they give me phenergan but it doesn’t help, also I’m allergic to codeine, their suggesting percoxet which makes me sick.
I have 3 kids to take care of and hubby will only be off 4 days. so can’t be completely drugged out. any suggestions

My 2 1/2 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids removed and new tubes put into his ears 3 weeks ago. He has had excessive drainage since then. He has vomited several times due to the drainage, he had diarrhea for over a week with out a temp, his nose will not stop running, he has had two ear infections, and his eyes are even seeping mucus. He has seen both his pediatrician and his ENT, however they say that he has a cold and gave him ANOTHER antibiotic. Any advice?
Thank you for the quick response ladies. He did have a fever for a few days, then it went away and came back for a few days. I assume that was from the ear infections. The fever is gone. He has been vomiting without a fever. I forgot to add his fatigue through all of this is unlike anything I’ve seen with a cold. He wants to sleep A LOT! He is my third child and I have not experienced anything quite like this. Thanks again.
