my tonsils are swollen all the time and been thinking of getting them taken out but what are the effects of this is there more good then bad? A doctor once told me the reason they are always swollen is because my sinuses are always dripping on them, that’s another thing my sinuses are always congested. Is there something that will make my sinusis better there for not making my tonsil swollen all the time? Open to all ides opinion, etc. TIA

I have tonsil stones and constantly have a sore throat now. My parents think that if they don’t go away i will probably have to have my tonsils removed. I was just curious how painful it is

I’m kelsey i’m 16 years old and i just had tonsil removal surgery yesterday morning, it is extremely painful and there is not much i am aloud to eat. doctors said that i cant eat any red foods, or hot foods, and they told me to stay away from dairy products at the moment too. please help me i am starving!
The doctor told me not to eat dairy because he doesnt want mucus build up or something? But jello sounds good, and does the medicine taste bad? i am scared to taste it. specially because its liquid and its pink.

My son had adnoid removal and ear tube placement surgery in april. The ENT didnt want to take out his tonsils yet (even though really big but not infected) because she said it would be alot of surgery for a 3 year old. Today we went back for a check up and his tonsils have grown and are close to touching each other. She said he doesnt need to have them removed its up to me. Has anyone ever had this problem, or heard of it and what did you do? He’s my only child and Im a very paranoid mommy sorry.

My tonsils are very large and although I can breathe all right, I’m worried that they will become even larger than they already are. Would getting them removed by a doctor be necessary?

After browsing the web , I found a source (wikipedia) that stated that tonsils are being removed more often among adults and children for sleep apnea (airway obstruction while sleeping), snoring, and upper airway obstruction. Children who have sleep apnea can do poorly in school, are tired and fatigued during the day, and have some links to ADHD.
Now ,I’m no longer a child nor do I have Adhd, however I do have a slight problem focusing on stuff and paying attention, and since I was a kid have had serious trouble falling asleeps at night, and was pretty shocked to find out that all along this may have been caused by a few peices of flesh at the back of my throat. Anyways if there’s anyone with a slight meducal background out there I have a few questions to ask?
1) How does a tonsil removal help you sleep and focus better?
2) Could I get my wisdom teeth pulled out at the same time?
3) Could I get them removed then be able to enjoy a vacation?
Any info would be appreciated.

My mom suggested that I get my tonsils removed, but my friend tells me that my voice may change if I do get them removed. I’m in an Advanced Womens’ Chorale at school and I’m concerned about this, is the voice changing tonsil rumor true?

My sisters little boy had his tonsils and adenoids removed Friday, well since then he has been running fever, Last night he woke up screaming and crying and he was soaking wet, this just doesn’t sound normal to me. Is it normal to run fever this many days after the procedure? Whats your experiences?

Hi I’m 17 and have been bugged by my tonsils for a few years now. They are abnormally large and irritate me regularly, as silly as it is its restricting the amount of food and drink I can intake in one go (which is alot less than other people) without my eyes watering or sometimes even gagging does anyone know how much it costs to have your tonsils and uvula removed entirely? are there any risks? ive attempted to research but found nothing please help
