I have been having repreated tonsil infections, and my uvula sticks to my tonsils or my tongue. I have difficulty swallowing at times. My doctor had me take home something to see if I had any incidents at night while sleeping where I stopped breathing, because I have started snoring. The thing I brought home said I had 71 incidents, but I haven’t heard anything back from the doctors office, is that I high number or normal?
I could lose some weight, my blood pressure is usually in the 70’s for the bottom number and I smoke occasionally

My friend has noticed that her son, who`s 6, has small, ball like bums just below the ear lobe, which would maybe indicate a tonsils infection, but he had them removed a couple years ago. Does anyone know what this could be,She is very worried.He also had a mild flu few days ago.

I’m an american. I hooked up with a girl I met at a bar in Manila, Philippines. I know nothing about her and how often she does that. Within 36 hours, I had a terrible fever, and then I got a horrible case of tonsillitis. I took erythromycin for 4-5 days with very little improvement in my condition. I switched to a stronger antibiotic and it has been 3 days already.

My left tonsil and the throat infection got better. My right tonsil is completely swollen, and probably worse than it was 3 days ago. It is incredibly swollen. It does not seem to be getting better at all. To top it off, I spontaneously got a case of conjunctivitis in the middle of all this. I feel like I might not make it out of here alive.

What does it mean if one of my tonsils is still infected and swollen and is not getting better? I feel like my immune system just can’t handle the infection or something. HELP ME!!!
I went to a doctor, but this place is 3rd world and I don’t really have many options right now. Regarding Mono, I had mono when I was 21 and I’m almost 24 now, usually people don’t get it again. Also, I don’t have many other symptoms, just a swollen tonsil. The fatigue is not particularly strong, nothing like the exhaustion I felt with mono.

Has anyone ever heard of a case of tonsillitis that just doesn’t go away? Does that happen ever? It’s kind of messed up. I hate tonsillitis, and I get it maybe 1.5 times per year. I feel like I’m too old for this.

Situation resolved.

Went to a hospital in Singapore. The doctor said that the tonsil was so swollen that it was blocking circulation to the sites of infection and just getting worse.

I was taken inpatient, given steroids to bring the swelling down, and intraveneous antibiotics to clear up the infection once that was possible.

It is working so far.

Now we know. Be wary of the girls in Manila and if tonsillitis doesn’t start improving within a week, it can become life-threatening.

Anyone had any experience with a throat infection that started in the tonsils and spread to the lymph nodes in the breast causing soreness and swelling there?

I recently underwent a legnthy and severe viral infection believed to be tonsilitus. Upon the recession of my swollen tonsils I noticed a painful tear and abnormality where my tonsil currently seems to lack support and hangs toward the oppossing side of my mouth slightly. Is this complication something I should be concerned with or will it eventual heal itself?

Many sites cite skin to skin contact as the source of Herpes 1 transmission. I have a herpes canker sore on my tonsil. Can I spread this when I kiss on the lips? Also, can it be spread through oral sex if it is on the back of my throat?

Additionally, what if I am not breaking out.. can it be spread then?

Well Last weekend June 27th I wasn’t feeling to good i noticed my tonsils getting swolen & my glands keep sticking out. my tonsils went back to normal on Wednesday and i went to the clinic on Friday and the doctor prescribed me Antibiotics But i am still using them but my throat hurts as hell one side of my throat is blocked or something like that cause i can’t even swallow… I am feeling really sick also..
