i had a bump where jaw and ear meet it hurt and i had mucus and pus in my throat and an inflamed right tonsil.i got mucinex and amox tr whatever and its the 4th day and pus and mucus is thinner and lump is smaller but i still almost throw up gagging on mucus and puss.

I have been having a sore throat for almost 4 days now, I have been getting constant headaches since I got a sore throat. My tonsils look red and kinda big. There’s also white little balls that I can feel on one of them. It really hurts and it’s difficult to swallow. The first day I got my sore throat I also had chills but no fever =/ I’ve taken medicine for sore throat and headaches. It helps temporarily but the pain always returns. Any idea what it could be? Thanks.

Hi, every time I inhale through my mouth or nose, the back of my throat hurts. It hurts to swallow, it’s not that bad, its just kinda stingy. In between the thing in the back of throat, the glands look bigger, and they’re kinda whitish. Should I see a doctor?

I have a staph infection. My tonsils were nasty looking, the doctor said. He gave me prescription for AUGMENTIN. Is it any good?? I am not used to this med.I have took Amoxillan before though (alone). I was surprised when found out it’s expensive but I assumed it was just Amoxillan.
how do I know if they gave me liquid, it said AUGMENTIN 20 doses? didnt say rather pill or liquid. ew hope its pill. thanks for replies

am a second hand smoker (meaning someone in my family is a smoker) but i HATE smoking but i have to breath in the house.. so one day this person was smoking and its all in the house and i was coughing and everything so my throats got infected and they were sore and hurting like hell (there was whitsh and yellow stuff on my tonsils it its GROSSS) and i was caoughing all the times it lasted for few days.. however after the pain is less but today i was drinking water and i felt like i have swallowed something and my throat was hurting.. So i went to look in the merrio i found my tonsils one the left had kind of a hole and a cut in it and the other did not.. help does this mean i swallowed one half of my tonsil in the left? or does it mean that i only swallowed the infection in my tonsil? and is it going to be back to normal or is it gonna stay cut in a half? is this dangerous? should i see a doctor? man it feels so weird now..
help plz i would appreciate it..

two weeks ago i had pus on my tonsils, i garged salt water and it went away, a couple days later my tonsils became very inflamed and sore, its so bad now its given me a headache the side in which is worse my inner ear hurts and my eye.

A week ago a white bump started growing on my tonsil. I went to the doctor due to intense pain when i swallow. I thought i have a bacterial/viral infection on my tonsil. She did not tell me anything. but I looked it up online and decided that maybe i had tonsil stone (tonsillolith). So i removed it with a cotton swab.
But it was a big enough piece lodged on/in my tonsil that when i removed it there’s now a big pocket on my tonsil.

What should I do to prevent infection or food stuck inside that hole before it heals?

i slept at a friends place last night and i was drinking captain morgans and smoking cigarettes when i woke up..at the left, back side of my throat (my guess would be right behind the tongue) it felt swollen and whenever i swallow it REALLY hurts

i think its gone down a little but it still really hurts..

could it be tonsils? i really have no idea about any of this stuff ive never had a tonsil infection or anything

Had a bad virus for 2 months. Then got my very first sinus infection. Had to have 2 seperate 1 week courses of antibiotics, only the 2nd course of antibiotcis managed to just about clear it.

I felt ok after about 2 weeks, then the other day I felt a bit off again. 2 days ago I woke, with a few head pains and still post-nasal drip, it had turned green again………

So today I really didnt feel well, I felt hot, croaky sounding voice, a few head pains and mild pressure and earache. So I went to the doctors, AGAIN, and they checked me out. I had a inflammed ear with slight inner infection, tonsils were a little swollen, inside of nose was badly inflammed, temperature was 37.8 degress, and I felt awful

The doctor said he didn’t want to give me antibiotics again just yet as it has only been just 3 days, and he thinks it’s viral. Also because last time the antibiotics made me feel really bad, quite anxious and bad dreams.

So…. I guess im just wondering what everyone else makes of it, after having this crap on and off for about 4 months now and if they think it could be viral? Also how long will it take, and will i know if its bacterial? Anything other cheering up would be welcomed
